Slavin put up the first multi-point game of his career Tuesday in New Jersey, notching two assists (one on the power play) in a 3-1 victory.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin's been seeing steady minutes since early February, though he's offered only modest fantasy rewards -- six helpers and 19 shots in the last 13 games. However, it looks like shipping John-Michael Liles out of town has opened up some power-play minutes for the 21-year-old. It's impressive how he's carved out a full-time NHL gig pretty much straight out of college, so even though Slavin isn't the most exciting fantasy player out there, it looks like he has a bright future ahead of him.

Slavin recorded an assist for the second consecutive game in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
With 13 points in 41 games, the 21-year-old Slavin is putting together a decent rookie season with the Canes. He started the season averaging roughly 15 minutes per game, but those minutes have risen to over 20 per game as the coaching staff now has greater confidence in his abilities at both ends of the ice. He's still a third- or even fourth-tier fantasy option at this stage of his young career, but give him time.

Slavin recorded an assist in the Hurricanes' last game prior to the All-Star break -- a 5-0 win over the Blackhawks on Jan. 26.
EDGE Analysis
With just nine points in 32 games this season, Slavin still doesn't score much, but he's been seeing top-four minutes for the Canes lately. In January, Slavin averaged almost 22 minutes per game (21:45) in 13 games, posting five assists and a plus-3 rating over that period. The Canes have proven they are not afraid to give their young, up-and-coming defensemen (Slavin, Noah Hanifin and Brett Pesce) prime-time minutes, and the results are starting to show. Slavin's fantasy value remains low in most standard formats, but it's on the rise. Those of you in keeper formats, take note.

Slavin recorded his fourth assist in his last five games in Friday's 3-2 OT loss to the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Three of those four assists have come on the power play, where Slavin has been seeing more time lately. In fact, for the past several games he's been skating on the Canes' second PP unit in place of John-Michael Liles. With 42 points in 66 games with Colorado College the past two seasons, Slavin's got some potential upside now that he's seeing regular time at the NHL level. He's worth a flyer if he's still available on your league's waiver wire.

Slavin has seen his ice time increase by roughly five minutes per game since he was first recalled from AHL Charlotte in November.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin was seeing roughly 13-14 minutes of action per game in his first three contests, but has since been promoted to the team's second defensive pairing where he's been averaging about 18 minutes per night. That said, he still has just four points in 16 games, making him a worthwhile fantasy play in deeper formats only.

Slavin was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Friday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin has already had one stint with the parent club this season, recording one assist in six contests. He'll fill in on the back end of the blue line but figures to not be a major factor for fantasy purposes.

Slavin was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin notched his first point of his NHL career with an assist against the Rangers on Monday. The 21-year-old rookie has skated in six contests this season for Carolina. Ryan Murphy will be taking Slavin's spot on the roster.

Slavin recorded a secondary assist in Monday night's 4-3 loss to the Rangers. It was the first point of his NHL career.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin also had a shot attempt against Henrik Lundqvist that while handled, appeared to be a tricky floater near the front of the crease. Slavin, a smooth skater, showed some offensive flair with Colorado College between 2013-15, notching 10 goals and 32 assists in 66 games.

Slavin was recalled by the Hurricanes on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Slavin will serve as the Hurricanes' seventh defenseman in Ryan Murphy's absence, who is day-to-day with a concussion. Slavin has tallied seven assists in 14 games with AHL Charlotte this season, and could make his NHL debut at some point during his stay with the big club if Murphy is forced to miss extended time.

Slavin signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Slavin just finished up his second season at Colorado College this spring, earning first-team All-NCHC honors after producing five goals and 17 points in 34 games. The 21-year-old offers good size (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) on defense, but will probably spend the whole upcoming season with AHL Charlotte.
