Barbashev scored the final goal in the Blues' 6-0 win over Ottawa on Tuesday. He added two shots on goal, three hits and a two-minute minor penalty over 11:06 of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev took advantage of a Senators turnover and exhibited good stick work to get off his shot, showing off some of the offense he's developed at AHL Chicago. He's now played in six straight games since being called up, but new coach Mike Yeo said there are no plans at this time to move him up in the lineup.

Barbashev was called up from AHL Chicago on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie went down to the minors to play in Chicago's pair of games during the All-Star break. He has only played one game in the NHL, so it's tough to gauge just how productive he'll be, but he has 37 points in 45 games in the AHL, so he has a history of being a high scorer.

Barbashev was sent down to AHL Chicago on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The youngster was called up on Thursday to fill in for Kyle Brodziak (foot), who will miss at least five weeks due to injury. With the All-Star break this weekend, Barbashev likely went down to get more play time, and could be back up in the NHL before Tuesday's game against Winnipeg.

Barbashev had one shot, two blocked shots and four hits over 10:03 of ice time in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev, who was called up from AHL Chicago earlier in the day, essentially filled in for the injured Kyle Brodziak (foot) on the fourth line. He wasn't a fourth-liner in the AHL, but for now, that's where the 21-year-old will make his living. The Russian forward had 37 points in 44 games for the Wolves, while improving a minus-14 rating in 2015-16 to an even rating this season. That indicates competency at both ends of the ice. Should the Blues continue to fall in the standings -- they're tied for seventh in the Western Conference after securing just two of a possible 10 points over the last five games -- guys like Barbashev might get a longer look on a better line.

Barbashev was called up from AHL Chicago on Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Russian prospect is known for his competitiveness and two-way acumen. While he's been polishing his line defense at the lower ranks, Barbashev managed 19 goals and 18 helpers in 44 AHL games prior to his call-up this season. His ascension to the parent club was necessary due to a significant foot injury to Kyle Brodziak.

Barbashev was assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move was expected. The 20-year-old needs more development minutes after being held to mostly fourth-line duty with the Wolves last season. He should get a better opportunity this time around as the Blues will have more managerial input at the independently owned AHL franchise in 2016-17.

The Blues want to see Barbashev get more ice time this season with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The Blues second-round pick in 2014 had 10 goals and 18 assists in 65 games while averaging about 10 minutes per game.
EDGE Analysis
The AHL doesn't track ice time per game, so his playing time is only an estimate, but Barbasev started the season on the second line and soon was moved to the fourth line. Because the Blues don't have an ownership stake in the Wolves -- Chicago is an independently owned franchise -- they had little control over the coaching staff and its decision. This year is a different story. In extending their contract with the Wolves for another season, the Blues leveraged the ability to help hire a new staff and we'll see the Russian getting more development time in 2016-17.

Barbashev, one of the Blues' top prospects, will join the AHL Chicago Wolves for the remainder of their season, after his junior team was eliminated from the playoffs. Barbashev had a big year with the Moncton Wildcats, scoring 45 goals, 95 points, and posting a plus-16 rating in 57 regular season games. He followed that up with 13 goals and 24 points in 16 playoff games. The Blues have a deep forward corps, but could be in for some changes after another first-round playoff loss. Barbashev should get the chance to compete for a spot on the club in training camp next season.

Barbashev had a goal and two assists in Moncton's (QMJHL) 6-2 win over Saint John on Sunday. Barbashev now has 21 points in his last 11 games. For the season, he's up to 41 goals and 85 points in 53 games. He projects as more of a responsible two-way forward once he surfaces in the NHL, but the 19-year-old Russian definitely has the ability to dominate offensively at the junior level.

Barbashev has 13 goals and 22 points in his first 15 games this season with Moncton (QMJHL). Barbashev is roughly on pace for the same point production as last season (68 points in 44 games), but he should shatter the 25 goal mark that he reached last year. The Blues did a terrific job of snatching Barbashev in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and he is expected to be a key contributor for Russia at the upcoming World Juniors in December. Long term, he projects as a third-line player who can chip in offensively and can handle a top-six role if necessary.
