Barbashev scored on his only shot attempt of the game in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Calgary. The 20-year-old has points in three straight games and five of the last six.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev has been economical since joining the Blues, scoring four goals on just 12 shots. His line, which has at times featured wingers Magnus Paajarvi, Zachary Sanford and Nail Yakupov, has been a steady source of offense the last 10 days, producing six goals in the last six games. He's received increased ice time with Paul Stastny (lower body), Jori Lehtera (upper body) and Dmitrij Jaskin (upper body) on the shelf. His minutes could be cut pending the return of those injured forwards, but Barbashev's recent explosion may give coach Mike Yeo pause.

Barbashev scored a goal on his only shot of the game in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev's third-period goal, his first in eight games, gave the listless Blues some late life, but they were unable to gain a point. The rookie center has been filling in for the injured Jori Lehtera (upper body) and may continue to do so through the remainder of the road trip that runs until next Tuesday. Lehtera did not travel with the Blues, but could join them if he shakes his injury.

Barbashev will get a chance to prove himself once against against the Islanders on Saturday, Tom Timmermann of St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Over Barbashev's past five games, he has only clocked 11:16 of ice time per game. His defensive contributions are what gives him another opportunity Saturday, but until he can prove himself offensively he will have difficulty securing a spot on the daily roster. Barbashev's past seven games have yielded one goal and one assist, yet that goal was his only shot on net over this stretch. Don't waste a fantasy spot on Barbashev just yet, but he does show long-term potential.

Barbashev was a healthy scratch Sunday against Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Other than a one-game absence due to injury, the rookie had been a regular in the lineup since being called up in late January. Perhaps his recent play -- no shots in the last five games -- played a factor in the decision to sit him Sunday. While the Blues, who currently reside in the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, harbor postseason thoughts, coach Mike Yeo will not commit to giving a prospect like Barbashev a spot on the active roster every night.

Barbashev returned to action Tuesday after missing one game due to an upper-body injury. He failed to get shot attempt on net and had three hits over 8:54 of ice time in a 2-1 loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev skated on the fourth line, but has the skill to be in the top-9. The Blues had a nice bump after changing coaches, winning the first six under Mike Yeo, but have followed up with four straight losses. The losing streak coupled with trading Kevin Shattenkirk, the Blues have the feel of a team that will be watching the postseason. It might be time for the organization to give young prospects like Barbashev increased ice time with which the Blues' decision-makers can more thoroughly evaluate them.

Barbashev (upper body) will return to St. Louis' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Oilers, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev is expected to slot into a bottom-six role Tuesday, skating with Scottie Upshall and Kyle Brodziak on St. Louis' fourth line. The Russian winger has only notched three points in 12 games with the big club this season, and isn't a viable option in most fantasy formats at this early stage in his career.

Barashev (upper body) has been recalled by the Blues, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev wasn't recalled prior to Sunday's contest against the Blackhawks due to the upper-body issue, so his summoning could suggest that he's ready to go ahead of Tuesday's game against the Oilers. The 21-year-old Russia native contributed three points (two goals, one assist) in the 12 games prior to the team's bye week, averaging just under 11 minutes of ice time per contest. That rate increased just prior to the hiatus, suggesting he may be carving out a slightly greater role with the big club. He even saw 54 seconds on the team's man advantage, making him a potentially sneaky play in daily lineups if he plays Tuesday.

Barnashev was unavailable for Sunday's game against the Blackhawks due to an upper-body injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev, who was assigned to AHL Chicago during the Blues' bye week, was never recalled for Sunday's game because of the injury. The injury is not considered serious, but his status for Tuesday's home game against the Oilers is uncertain. Dmitri Jaskin took his spot on the active roster Sunday.

Barbashev was sent down to AHL Chicago on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev appeared in 12 contests during his first stint in an NHL lineup and logged two goals and one assist in 10:53 of ice time. Not bad for the second-round pick out of the QMJHL. The 21-year-old returns to the AHL where he has managed 37 points in 45 outings this year. Given his raw scoring talent, the center may be worth keeping an eye on, or even stashing, in deeper dynasty/keeper leagues.

Barbashev's first-period goal was the game-winner Wednesday in the Blues' 2-0 blanking of the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
Barbashev has been moved off the fourth line and is averaging 12:49 of ice time over the past three games. His top-9 role will last until Paul Stastny (lower body) is ready to return, which is not expected until at least Saturday, so Barbashev will get increased playing time Thursday against Vancouver.
