Andersen will be between the pipes Saturday against the Rangers, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen started the season in remarkable fashion, deflecting 35 pucks and only letting two by. The Rangers will be tough competition this season, even though they opened the season with a 4-2 loss to Colorado, despite firing 39 shots on net. Andersen will likely see plenty of puck Saturday, and if the opener is a fair signal, he'll be able to handle it just fine.

Andersen put up a 35-save performance in a 7-2 win over the Jets on Wednesday night.
EDGE Analysis
The Great Dane was pelted with pucks, especially in the first period when the Jets sent wave after wave of firepower his way. Andersen may face a lot of rubber early this season as the Leafs' D gels, but that will only serve to drive up his save percentage. He should deliver top-10 results in the Leafs' blue paint.

Andersen will defend the cage for Wednesday's opener in Winnipeg, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday will mark the beginning of Andersen's second season as a Leaf, and though he was an instant improvement over Toronto's netminders of recent years, the team will be hoping that he can make another step in his development for the upcoming campaign. The Maple Leafs have a high-octane offense that averaged 3.05 goals per game last season and figures to get even better in 2017-18, so if Andersen is able to improve upon his 2.67 GAA and .918 save percentage that he posted in 2016-17, Toronto could be serious Stanley Cup contenders. Andersen has been handed a difficult task for Wednesday, as Winnipeg is a talented team that plays in front of a great home crowd.

Andersen is completely healthy heading into this season, reports the Toronto Star.
EDGE Analysis
Last season, Andersen sat out the first part of training camp after suffering a concussion during a summer Olympic qualifier for Denmark. He didn't skate until September 28 and it showed in his early season results. The .851 save percentage he delivered in his first five games sent Leafs' faithful into a tailspin, but Andersen turned things around and played over 3,800 minutes in 66 games in his first year in blue and white. And by season's end, that save percentage was .918 and fans were tattooing his number on their arms. Andersen should be a top-15 twinetender this season and a top-10 overall finish is within reach on this rising team.

Andersen will not participate in the 2017 IIHF World Championship with Denmark, Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen's decision will almost certainly sink Denmark's chances of making it past the preliminary round of the tournament as they are left with just one NHL player in Nikolaj Ehlers of Winnipeg. This past year, the netminder played in 60-plus regular-season contests for the first time in his career -- posting a 33-16-14 record -- so it should come as no surprise he is looking forward to some time off. After joining the team during the offseason, the 27-year-old has firmly cemented himself as the No. 1 in Toronto and should factor heavily into its chances of making a deeper run into the playoffs in 2018.

Andersen stopped 34 of 36 shots in Sunday's season-ending Game 6 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen turned in an impressive showing, but unfortunately Marcus Johansson was able to jump on a rebound in overtime and eliminate the Leafs. Andersen didn't have an amazing playoff, but he turned in a few really impressive performances and showcased his capabilities moving forward. With the effort he gave in a must-win situation Sunday, the Leafs have to feel very confident having him as their starter moving forward.

Andersen will patrol the crease for Sunday's Game 6 against the Capitals, Dave McCarthy of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen stopped 26 of the 28 shots flung his way, but a lack of offensive support resulted in a Game 5 loss and a 2-1 series advantage turning to a 3-2 deficit. He will look to assist the Leafs in staving off elimination Sunday at home to force a Game 7 back in Washington.

Andersen turned aside 26 of 28 shots from the Capitals on Friday, ultimately taking an overtime loss for Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
This was one of Freddie's better performances of the series considering he had save percentages below .900 in Games 4 and 5, but the lack of offensive support did him in. Down 3-2 in the conference quarterfinal series, Andersen and the youthful Leafs find themselves in a must-win situation come Sunday evening.

Andersen will be between the pipes for Friday's matchup with the Capitals, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen hasn't been outstanding in the opening round of the playoffs -- posting a 3.05 GAA and .815 save percentage -- but has done enough to keep these outings competitive as three of the four previous outings have gone to overtime. With the series tied at two games a piece, the netminder will need to make key saves that will give his talented rookie teammates a chance to win.

Andersen saved just 22 of 27 shots during Wednesday's Game 4 loss.
EDGE Analysis
Washington dominated the first half of the game and then sat back on their lead, so Andersen faced just 12 shots after the first period. With the series returning to Washington for Game 5, the Maple Leafs and Andersen will need to figure out how to slow down the fast starts from the Capitals. Washington has scored six first-period goals over the past two games, after all.
