Andersen made 44 saves on 46 shots to help his club take a 3-2 shootout win over the Predators on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Not only did the Dane stop 44 shots in 65 minutes, he also made another five saves in the shootout to absolutely steal this win. Nights like these compared with some of his other performances have made Andersen both valuable and frustrating to own, as it's always a guess as to which version will show up. His talent and the Leafs' ability to pick him up with their offense means owners are best served by playing him in most situations and hoping for the best, with the understanding that peaks and valleys are equally likely for him.

Andersen was named Wednesday's home starter against the Predators, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen fortunately dodged a serious injury upon his collision with Ducks forward Corey Perry on Monday. He'll now take aim at a Predators club that's averaging 2.80 goals per game (12th in the NHL) on the road this season. The Dane's been a serviceable fantasy option as the owner of a 25-15-4 record, 2.66 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Andersen (head) said Tuesday that he feels fine and is happy that he avoided serious injury during Monday night's game with Anaheim, TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
While it's unclear whether or not Andersen will start Wednesday's game against the Predators, it seems safe to say that the Dane is not dealing with any lingering effects of the collision that knocked him out of Monday's contest. Coach Mike Babcock corroborated Andersen's claims when speaking to the media, so the goalie is likely ready to play barring some kind of doctor's second opinion.

Andersen was forced to leave Monday's game against Anaheim after a collision with Corey Perry, TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perry was attempting to drive into the crease but lost his balance, and his skate caught Andersen in the head as he tumbled down. The 28-year-old remained on the ice after the collision before letting Curtis McElhinney replace him in net, and his helmet was dislodged during the incident as well. The severity of Andersen's injury is unknown, but should be updated by the team before Wednesday's tilt against Nashville -- if he isn't able to go, McElhinney is in line to get the starting nod.

Andersen will tend the twine for Monday's clash with Anaheim, Paul Hendrick of the Maple Leafs' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has been inconsistent of late, as he is 3-3-3 in his previous nine outings with a 2.56 GAA. Over that stretch, the netminder has posted a shutout, while also giving up four goals on 32 shots to the Senators. The Ducks are scoring just 2.72 goals per game (ninth fewest in the league), which should give the Dane a good shot at securing win No. 26 of the year.

Andersen made 26 saves in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins. He allowed three goals.
EDGE Analysis
The Bruins got a couple of lucky bounces, but all-in-all, they were better than the Buds. Andersen was again his stellar self, but it's almost impossible to offset an almost complete lack of offense from his teammates. Keep him rolling -- he's too good to be on the losing side for long.

Andersen will see shots from the Bruins as a road starter Saturday, Paul Hendrick of the Maple Leafs' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen triumphed over the B's on Nov. 10, as he pushed aside 33 of 35 shots. However, the Atlantic Division foe has gone 7-1-2 over the past 10 games to remain three points ahead of the Leafs in the standings. There's a lot to like about Freddie's record (25-14-4) and robust save percentage of .922, but even without Brad Marchand (suspension), we'd expect Boston to put up a good fight in this one.

Andersen stopped all 28 New York shots in a 5-0 win over the Islanders on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen didn't need to be anywhere close to perfect to win this one, but it sure didn't hurt that he was perfect on Wednesday. That's now two quality starts in a row from the Dane, and it couldn't come quick enough, as he's coming off a stretch where he gave up three or more goals in five of six games. If he's on his game again, pairing him with the Leafs' powerful offense makes for a deadly combination.

Andersen will start in goal against the visiting Islanders on Wednesday, the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Maple Leafs have already decided that Andersen will work between the pipes in the next game, with Curtis McElhinney scheduled for the subsequent road contest against the Rangers to complete the back-to-back set. Toronto's high-powered offense helped Andersen claim 24 wins through 42 appearances ahead of the All-Star break, and he's already earned three shutouts to boot. The Dane's .920 shooting percentage also might be high enough that most fantasy fantasy owners would feel confident starting him, even though the next opponent is tied with Vegas for second in average goals per game at 3.4.

Andersen turned aside 34 of the 36 shots he faced Wednesday in a 3-2 overtime win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen needed a game like this after two consecutive poor performances against Colorado and Ottawa. He was more like the goaltender Leafs fans expected at the start of the season, and if he's put his January struggles behind him, he could make for a smart play moving forward.
