Andersen made 21 saves in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
He was tested, time and time again, but he stood tall. Andersen made his last start on Nov. 21 and this was just his fifth win of the season. He needs to be almost perfect in the blue paint given the Ducks lack of scoring. And that's almost impossible.

Anderson has been confirmed as Anaheim's starting goalie for Saturday's matchup with New Jersey, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ducks have lost two straight games by a combined score of 8-1, so Andersen will get the start Saturday in hopes of providing a spark in net. He has not started a game since Nov. 21 when he allowed five goals to the Lightning.

Andersen stopped five of six shots in relief of John Gibson Friday against Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
It was the first appearance since Nov.21 for Andersen, who played the third period Friday after Gibson was pulled. Now that the young goaltender has finally had a bad game, Andersen might get the chance to get back in the crease. With a .913 save percentage on the year, the 26-year-old makes for a reliable option whenever he does get the call.

Andersen returned to the Anaheim lineup in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Penguins, but only in a backup role.
EDGE Analysis
Young netminder John Gibson has been lights out since being called up by the team in Andersen's absence, hence the decision to leave Andersen on the bench. It is unclear as to who will take the reins moving forward, so keep a close eye on what the Ducks decide to do with their three goalies over the next little while. Andersen's next opportunity to return to the cage will be in Friday's home tilt with the Hurricanes.

Andersen (illness) practiced Thursday and Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said the goalie is close to a return.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen is dealing with the flu and has not appeared in a game since Nov 21, when he was shelled for five goals on 24 shots to the Lightning. Since then, John Gibson has made five appearances between the pipes for Anaheim, allowing just nine scores over that span. At any rate, it would be a big surprise if Andersen ultimately doesn't reprise his role as the top netminder for the Ducks based on his 2.54 GAA and .914 save percentage, numbers that don't scream "start me" in the fantasy realm but are nonetheless serviceable when you consider that the skaters in front of him have only mustered 52 goals in 26 games.

Andersen (illness) was placed on IR Monday in a largely unannounced moved, The Hockey News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move is retroactive to November 24, meaning that Andersen will be eligible to be activated at any time now. This move doesn't affect the likelihood of Andersen returning to the net on Friday, as was previously reported.

Andersen (illness) could be eyeing a return tot he net Friday against the Sharks, the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has been battling a flu bug that has kept him out since Nov. 21, but it appears the issue may finally be subsiding. John Gibson will receive the start in net Monday, with Anton Khudobin once again backing him up, but it sounds as though Andersen's return between the pipes could be just around the corner. However, expect an update at some point during the week confirming one way or the other.

Andersen is still dealing with the flu and that prevented him from traveling to Arizona for Wednesday's contest against the Coyotes, NHL.com's Jerry Brown reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen will now have until Friday to overcome the illness and return to game action against the Blackhawks. As noted in the report, John Gibson could be the one to draw the start Wednesday after winning his season debut Tuesday night, turning away 19 of 20 shots in relief of Anton Khudobin, who coughed up two goals in just 10:39 TOI.

Andersen (illness) won't suit up for Tuesday's game against Calgary, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anaheim is scheduled to hit the road after Tuesday's tilt for a matchup with the Coyotes on Wednesday evening, so Andersen will be evaluated by the Ducks' training staff Tuesday night to determine if the netminder is healthy enough to travel with the team to Arizona. If he's deemed unfit to make the trip, Andersen's next chance to return to action will come Friday against the Blackhawks.

Andersen finished with 19 saves Saturday in a 5-0 loss to the Lightning. Two of the goals allowed came on the power play.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has just one win in his last five games started and just four in 15 games started this season. The Ducks are a shell of themselves so far and that makes starting Andersen or any of his twinetending quackers a huge roll of the dice.
