Johnson (illness) will be in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Predators, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turns out the bug that was keeping Johnson from practicing wasn't anything serious and he will return to action without missing any games. The 2006 number one overall draft pick has been great recently, as he's notched a goal and three assists to accompany a plus-4 rating in his last six games.

Johnson was not at practice Monday with an illness, Terry Frei of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson's status for Tuesday's matchup against Nashville should be considered questionable at best considering he is not the first Avs player to come down with this bug. In his last five contests, the blueliner has tallied a goal and two assists while averaging 23:32 of ice time per night. When you factor in the 28-year-old's power-play contributions, he is certainly worth considering in most fantasy formats.

Johnson posted a goal, an assist, five shots on net and seven blocked shots through 22:50 of ice time during Monday's win over the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
This is the type of cross-category showing that Johnson flashes from time to time, and while Monday's game highlights his ceiling, the fantasy floor is also high. Johnson has 10 assists through 18 games with 41 shots on net, 36 hits and 53 blocked shots. He is worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues and currently stands out as a potential value play in daily contests.

Johnson has two assists and six shots on goal in his last three games.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson has yet to score this season and has just six assists to go with a minus-5 raiting in 14 contests, but at least he's gotten on the scoresheet a couple times recently. Despite the modest point total, he's actually tied for the team lead among defensemen with Tyson Barrie, so perhaps Johnson's 2:03 of average power-play ice time will start to reap additional rewards as one of the team's top rearguards.

Johnson registered two assists and received 24:28 of ice time during Monday's game against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson also saw 2:35 of power-play time Monday, and he picked up a PP assist on Gabriel Landeskog's game-tying goal. Johnson then assisted Landekog's game-winning goal in overtime. Per usual, the defenseman filled out the stat sheet with four shots on goal, a blocked shot and six hits. Even though he's already 28 years old, there could still be a breakout offensive season for the former No. 1 pick, which would pair nicely with the solid peripheral statistics he posts annually.

Johnson earned an assist in Saturday's wild 6-5 win over the visiting Stars.
EDGE Analysis
The 2006 first overall pick also fired four shots on goal and received 2:53 of power-play time, the most among Avalanche blueliners. More importantly, Johnson spent nearly twice as much time as Tyson Barrie (1:27) on the man advantage, which is worth nothing since Barrie is generally the more offensive-minded of the two and has been the Avs' power-play quarterback for the past couple of seasons. Owners of both players should pay close attention to their ice time in the coming games, especially since there's a new head coach behind the bench in Jared Bednar that might have different ideas for deploying Colorado's defense.

Johnson lit the lamp on two shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson came into Saturday's matchup without a goal in his last nine outings, notching just one helper in that span as well. However, that apple was last game, as the defenseman has now reached the scoresheet in two straight. Johnson has seven two-game point streaks on the year, but unfortunately, he hasn't been able to string together anything longer than that.

Johnson scored two assists in a losing effort Thursday against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson now has 20 points in 45 games this season, and since returning from his lower-body injury has four assists in his past four games. He remains a workhorse on the Avs blue line, playing 25:24 on the night and finished with a plus-2 rating. Johnson isn't the most offensively gifted but remains an all-round defenseman who can play in all situations. He doesn't have much upside but he's consistent, which makes him a fantasy asset worth considering.

Although he won't play Friday against St. Louis, Johnson (lower body) will return to action Saturday against the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson has been sidelined since Jan. 6 with a lower-body injury, but returned to practice Wednesday, which was the first indication that the 6-foot-4 blueliner was close to returning to Colorado's lineup. Johnson's return will serve as a huge boost to the Avlanche's defense corps, as he was averaging 23:30 of ice time before sustaining his lower-body ailment. The former first-round pick has tallied 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 40 games this season.

Johnson (knee) participated in Wednesday's morning skate according to Head Coach Patrick Roy.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson had resumed skating activities back on Jan. 12 but this is the first time the defenseman has practiced with the team since sustaining a knee injury on Jan. 4. Now that Johnson has returned to practice, a return to the lineup can be expected sometime within the next week.
