Johnson's second goal of the season was the overtime winner Tuesday against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a trying season for Johnson and the Avs, to say the least. Hampered by injury all season, Johnson has appeared in just 42 games this season, and will likely finish the season with his lowest offensive output in four seasons. His fantasy value has been minimal this season due to his limited appearances and low production.

Johnson garnered a pair of assists in Monday's 4-2 loss to Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
The pair of apples snapped a 14-game point drought. It's been a rough season for the 2006 first-overall pick, as injuries have limited him to just 39 games and 14 points, so Johnson will make for an interesting bounce-back candidate in 2017-18.

Johnson (leg) is finally feeling good four games into his return after a long layoff due to injury, Ron Knabenbauer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was on the shelf for 36 games due to a broken leg. He is back and logging plenty of time time, and he now feels his legs are back and so is his timing. His best asset to fantasy owners is his ability to block shots, something he has been very good at doing over the years. However, the Avalanche rank dead-last in goal differential, so if your pool penalizes plus/minus rating he is not a recommended option.

Johnson (leg) is expected to play Saturday's game against the Sabres, per coach Jared Bednar.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a long time coming for Johnson and he finally appears ready to return from a 36-game absence after breaking his leg on Dec. 3. The Minnesota native could immediately slot into one of Colorado's top two defensive pairings, though it remains to see who his partner will be on the blue line.

Johnson (leg) is practicing fully and says he will be ready to play Saturday against the Sabres, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
While it's difficult to take players at their own word since they generally overestimate their ability to get out there, Johnson has been rehabbing for months and the progress he's made to this point would seem to indicate that Saturday is in fact a realistic return date for him. The 28-year-old's return could provide a boost for rest of the players on team, though not enough for them to make the playoffs.

Johnson (leg) continues to make progress and coach Jared Bednar hopes to see him back soon, but he's unlikely to suit up for Tuesday's contest against the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
While it's great to hear that Johnson appears to be close to a return after such an extended absence, he likely won't be eligible to crack the lineup until he can log at least one full-contact practice. It's almost certainly too little too late for the Avs at this point, but Johnson's return could be significant for fantasy owners who were intrigued by his abilities to acquire assists early in the season.

Johnson took part in practice Monday for the first time since breaking his leg on Dec. 3, the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately, fellow Avs blueliner Nikita Zadorov broke his ankle today during the same practice and is done for the year, which pretty much sums up how bad Colorado's luck has been this season. Johnson donned a red no-contact sweater but otherwise took drills at full speed, so there's a chance he could return later in the week -- potentially at Nashville on Thursday or at home Saturday versus the Sabres.

Johnson (leg) is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
This move to IR doesn't change Johnson's timeline but merely allows Colorado some flexibility with their roster moves. With the Avalanche dealing with multiple injuries to their defensive corps right now, the recently-acquired Cody Goloubef could become immediately useful.

Johnson will be out 6-8 weeks after breaking his fibula during Saturday's game against the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
It was initially reported that Johnson merely sustained a leg injury but after medical evaluation, the 28-year-old has apparently sustained a major injury. More news on a definitive timetable will likely be released once the blueliner undergoes more thorough evaluation, but at this point, it seems likely the former No. 1 overall pick will be out until late January at the earliest.

Johnson sustained a leg injury during Saturday's game against the Stars and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson blocked a shot from Tyler Seguin late in the contest and the ailment was serious enough to send the blueliner to the dressing room for the remainder of the game. Prior to exiting the game, the 28-year-old tallied three blocked shots over 14:30 of ice time. He'll be questionable for the Avs' upcoming matchup with the Predators on Tuesday.
