Lack stopped just 10 of 15 shots before heading to the bench in the second period of Wednesday's 8-2 loss to Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Well, that didn't go well. Lack was yanked 4:27 into the second period after giving up his fifth goal of the night. He already looked shaky in relief against St. Louis, but this was a disaster for him and the Flames. Until Mike Smith (upper body) comes back, the goaltending situation in Calgary should be avoided.

Lack will tend the twine for Wednesday's matchup in Detroit, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
With No. 1 goaltender Mike Smith set to miss Wednesday's game with an undisclosed ailment, Lack was the natural choice to enter the net Wednesday. While Wednesday will mark Lack's fourth appearance of the season, it'll be just his second start -- with his first coming in an Oct. 25 loss to St. Louis. Lack's opponents Wednesday sit 26th in the league in scoring, but utilizing the Swede in fantasy lineups could still prove to be risky considering he's already allowed seven goals on just 49 shots this season.

Lack saved 13 of 15 shots after relieving starter Mike Smith to begin the second period of Monday's 7-4 win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Lack has only made one start this season, and he now sports a discouraging .857 save percentage and 3.67 GAA through his three appearances. Smith's (undisclosed) injury status -- or the lack thereof -- will probably be well known ahead of Wednesday's road game against Detroit, so fantasy owners should have ample time to prepare. Lack's value would likely skyrocket if Smith is forced to miss time, but without an official statement from the organization, it's probably to early to jump to conclusions in the majority of settings.

Lack gave up four goals on 28 shots in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues have been a tough task to stop, but this isn't the way to impress anyone in Calgary for the backup netminder, who made his first start as a Flame. Lack's .857 save percentage in the defeat isn't going to do a thing to increase his chances of taking starts from Mike Smith.

Lack will start in goal Wednesday night versus the host Blues.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Lack's first start as a member of the Flames, his third different club since the Canucks scooped him up ahead of the 2013-14 season. Also a former Hurricane, Lack made an Oct. 13 relief appearance spelling starter Mike Smith, but let in a goal over six shots in what amounted to a 6-0 loss. This next game won't come easy for Lack, as the Blues currently sit atop the Central Division standings with a 6-2-1 record through nine games.

Lack allowed one goal on six shots in a relief appearance during a 6-0 loss against the Senators on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
In his first outing of the season, Lack didn't see much work in 12 minutes, as his team was pressing to erase a 5-0 deficit. But he did allow a power-play goal in the final four minutes. Lack went 8-7-3 with a .902 save percentage and 2.64 GAA in 20 appearances. He might see more work than that behind veteran Mike Smith, but it's not enough to be relevant in most fantasy leagues.

Lack will tend the twine for Monday's preseason matchup with Winnipeg, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lack's first appearance with his new club didn't go well, allowing three goals on 23 shots during 30 minutes of play. The former Canuck and Hurricane will be hoping to improve upon that performance Monday, when he projects to go the distance and play a full 60 minutes.

Lack was traded to Calgary on Thursday along with Ryan Murphy and a 2019 seventh-round pick in exchange for Keegan Kanzig and a 2019 sixth-round pick, Bob McKenzie of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carolina unloaded $1.375 million of Lack's cap hit to the Flames, and likely made a statement that Scott Darling and Cam Ward will be the Hurricanes' goaltenders. Lack has posted an unimpressive .901 save percentage over the past two seasons, amounting to a record of 20-21-9 in that span. The 29-year-old backstop will be a handy backup to Mike Smith in Calgary that should get at least 15 starts due to back-to-back games, but not much more than that.

Lack wound up on the list of players available to the Golden Knights for the expansion draft, theScore reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's clear that Lack has worn out his welcome in Raleigh. The lanky netminder was initially expected to be the successor to Cam Ward -- who's also been left off the protected list -- but Lack's role has diminished as a direct result of poor peripherals. The Swedish puck plugger began his NHL with Vancouver and posted save percentages of .912 and .921, respectively, through his first two campaigns, but he's barely hovered over the .900 mark since joining the 'Canes ahead of the 2015-16 season. Making matters worse, the 29-year-old was publicly called out by coach Bill Peters for poor play.

Lack will start in net for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Lack has allowed three or more goals in each of his last three appearances, but the duo of he and Cam Ward have still split time relatively evenly down the stretch. He will get the final call of the season Sunday, looking to end things on a positive note against a Flyers club that's won five of its last seven games.
