Larkin fired home his seventh goal of the season in a 3-1 win over Dallas on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin's tally came with the man advantage late in the first period, tying the game 1-1 before the intermission. The youngster is starting to look like an early candidate for hockey's "Cy Young" award with his seven goals and only one assist, as well, as he hasn't dished out a helper since the very first game of the season against the Lightning. Given Larkin's slow start, he'll need to put in some serious work the rest of the way if he wants to get within earshot of the 22 goals and 45 points he put up as a rookie last year.

Larkin registered his fifth goal of the season Thursday, helping the Red Wings to a 3-1 home win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin showed tremendous concentration on the scoring play, as he hovered around the crease and was able to put one past Ryan Miller on the rebound after two different Wings had no such luck. Larkin has been inconsistent this season, though he does seem more comfortable having moved from center to wing.

Larkin has produced four goals in the last five games, and the difference has been his moving back to the wing from the center position, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Pavel Datsyuk leaving the team for the KHL ahead of this season, the Red Wings experimented with Larkin as a top-line center, which is his natural position, but the results weren't there as the speedy Michigan native started the campaign with one assist representing his only point through the first six games. Now that Larkin looks more comfortable on the ice, fantasy owners can expect consistent production from him moving forward.

Larkin scored a goal and registered five shots on net over 17:18 of ice time during Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an underwhelming start to 2016-17 for Larkin. He's scored four goals with just a single assist and owns a disappointing minus-7 rating. The future remains bright for the sophomore, and Larkin should be viewed as a potential buy-low candidate in deeper settings.

Larkin lit the lamp twice in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
The sophomore is no longer goalless after finding twine twice in a span of 4:05 in the first period -- the second of which held up as the game-winner. Larkin had actually been held without a point since his single assist in the first game of the season, a rut that undoubtedly had been getting under the skin of fantasy owners. It remains to be seen how close the 20-year-old will come to his 23-goal, 45-point rookie showing from 2015-16, but now that the monkey is off his back, look for him to start scoring with more frequency.

Larkin hasn't recorded a point since the Oct. 13 season opener, plus he's skated to a minus-4 rating over the first fix games.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin is known for his blazing speed, which helps him slice through the attacking zone, but opponents are managing to get under his skin in the early going. The Michigan native had 34 PIM in 80 games this year, yet he's already spent 11 minutes in the box from four penalties 2016-17. Be patient with Larkin as he figures out how the best way to let his play do the talking.

Larkin brushed the twine during a 5-on-3 advantage, and also was in the penalty box for six minutes Saturday night against the Maple Leafs. The Red Wings won the preseason finale, 4-3.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin was uncharacteristically chippy in this contest, as evidenced by by his three minor penalties. The speedster is expected to move to center this season, and he'll have Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader on his sides making up the top line. There's no denying that Larkin looked great as a rookie in 2015-16, having secured 45 points and a team-best rating of plus-11, but he only managed five points on the man advantage. Larkin is so quick on the rush that it's tough for him to have the patience necessary to let plays develop, but new assistant coach John Torchetti should help the youngster improve on the power play. Expect gaudy shot and goal-scoring totals from No. 71 this season.

The Red Wings plan to move Larkin to the center position in the upcoming season, NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin's natural position is down the middle, so this should be a relatively seamless adjustment. The burner played center at the 2016 IIHF World Championship and proceeded to register two goals and seven helpers in 10 games for Team USA. While Larkin played on the left wing as a rookie last season with Henrik Zetterberg at center, the offseason departure of Pavel Datsyuk presents a new look for the Wings in the top six. Given his blazing speed, and no matter where he lines up, Larkin should continue to be an absolute nightmare for defenders on the rush. However, he only won 41 percent of his draws last season and that number needs to be improved upon if he gets his wish to move back to the center spot.

Larkin was named the Red Wings rookie of the year by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Not surprisingly, this was a unanimous selection. Aside from a six-game stint with AHL Grand Rapids in the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs, Larkin avoided the minor leagues and was ready to showcase his scoring skills in the NHL this season. In 80 regular-season games, the 19-year-old sank a team-high 23 goals to go along with 22 helpers. His blazing speed - he became the all-time fastest skater at the All-Star Skills competition - allows him to break up the rush in the defensive zone. In fact, by a wide margin, his plus-11 rating led all Red Wings in 2015-16. With Pavel Datsyuk flirting with the idea of returning to Russia and Henrik Zetterberg seemingly past his prime, it will be up to Larkin to keep shining offensively. Some might fear that he'll go through a sophomore slump, but the upside appears to outweigh the risk when it comes to Larkin. Catch him if you can.

Larkin potted a nifty goal against Hungary on Friday, helping the U.S to a 5-1 win at the IIHF World Championship.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin lit the lamp at an extremely difficult angle, shooting the puck from the goal line parallel to the netminder. The 19-year-old leads Team USA with six points (two goals, four assists) in the tournament. Such efforts on the international stage can only boost his draft stock ahead of the 2016-17 season. One thing is for sure: he's not likely to be overlooked after topping all Red Wings with 23 goals in the regular season.
