Larkin went through concussion protocol in the third period of Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Avalanche, but the speedy forward dodged a lasting injury, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anthony Mantha -- who's listed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds -- took exception to Patrik Nemeth leveling Larkin in the third period, so he dropped his gloves and stood up for the alternate captain, who voiced his displeasure of being removed from the contest. "I was fine, I'm fine now," Larkin said. "I guess it's league protocol, but it's not fair when ... it's not a penalty on the ice (to Nemeth), so I don't know why I have to go off. It makes me mad, it's at a critical time in the game." Based on his own post-game comments and the fact that he only missed a couple of shifts, Larkin should be fine for Tuesday's home clash with the Lightning.

Larkin collected a secondary assist Saturday, helping the Red Wings to a 4-3 shootout road win over the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin, who stunned the Rangers with an overtime goal Friday, failed to convert a shootout goal in this one, but he still came up clutch with a game-tying assist on Anthony Mantha's (second) third-period goal en route to another OT. The 22-year-old is a joy to watch, and it's pretty clear why GM Ken Holland bestowed a five-year, $30.5 million contract on Larkin in August.

Larkin (maintenance) said he'll be fit to play in Friday's home game against the Rangers, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit's shootout hero from Tuesday's game against the Canucks can safely be deployed as normal for fantasy purposes. Larkin's averaging a point per game despite the Wings being one step above the basement of the Atlantic Division standings at 5-8-2.

Larkin was excused from practice Wednesday after sustaining an undisclosed injury -- which he ultimately returned from -- Tuesday night against the Canucks, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
This essentially amounted to a maintenance day for Larkin, meaning there's no real threat of the speedy center missing Friday's home contest against the Rangers.

Larkin was the lone shootout scorer in Tuesday's 3-2 home win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin sustained an injury after a first-period collision, but the young leader shook it off and still ended up skating for 20:59 of ice time, including 1:12 on the power play and 2:10 shorthanded. Larkin's shootout magic led to his team's fourth win in the past five games.

Larkin set up two goals in Sunday's 4-2 home win over the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin was the primary distributor on defenseman Jonathan Ericsson's go-ahead goal with 10:40 remaining in the third period, and then the fleet-footed pivot factored into an empty-netter that was credited to Justin Abdelkader en route to Detroit's first home win of the season. The Wings only have two victories between 11 games, but Larkin's had multi-point efforts in each of the prevailing efforts.

Larkin has just two points over his last five games, and both the goal and assist took place in a single contest against the Panthers last Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Wings only have one win in 10 games for the worst record in the entire league, and Larkin -- one of four alternate captains for Detroit -- will need to find a way to right the ship for his team. He boasts incredible speed and is still on pace for a new career high in points having scored four times to complement three assists, but the Wings' only win came in Larkin's second two-point outing of the season and this team relies on him more than some are led to believe.

Larkin scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin has seven points, including four goals, in eight games. The Wings are a bad team with just a single win. He is becoming the team leader at just 22 and is looking to build on last season's breakout 63 points (16 goals, 47 assists). So far, so good. Larkin is a solid activation, as long as his minus-6 won't hurt your squad.

Larkin registered a shorthanded goal and four PIM in Saturday's 8-2 road loss to the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin was sent to the box for roughing in the first period, and the fleet-footed pivot would end up with the shorthanded tally in the third, when the game was already well out of reach. The alternate captain is the type of player who will keep fighting until the end no matter how many goals are scored by the opposition. Larkin has recorded at least one point in four of the first five games, adding three goals and two assists in all.

Larkin found the back of the net on the power play in Sunday's 4-2 road loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin was a prime candidate to inherit the captaincy with Red Wings legend Henrik Zetterberg (back) announcing his retirement, but the 22-year-old will settle in as one of four alternative captains for the Winged Wheel. The Michigan native brings plenty of speed and leadership qualities to benefit the Original Six club, and it's clear from Larkin signing his six-year, $30.5 million contract extension in August that he's the cornerstone of a rebuilding franchise.
