Roloson will return to his role as the Ducks' goaltending consultant for Wednesday's game against the Islanders, after the team called up goalie Igor Bobkov from AHL Norfolk on Tuesday. Injuries to Frederik Andersen and John Gibson forced the 45-year-old Roloson to suit up as an emergency backup for the Ducks in their game Sunday against the Avalanche. While putting an NHL uniform back on may have been something of a rush for Roloson, he has no desire to pursue an NHL comeback.

Roloson was recalled by the Ducks on an emergency basis prior to Sunday's game against the Avalanche, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. He'll serve as the backup to the newly-recalled Jason LaBarbera. Unexpected injuries to Frederik Andersen earlier in the day and John Gibson just minutes before Sunday's game have resulted in the ultimate doomsday scenario for the Ducks. Jason LaBarbera was recalled from AHL Norfolk to make the start for the Ducks, his third in as many days after manning the net for the minor league squad Friday and Saturday. As a result, the 45-year-old Roloson will take a temporary hiatus from his duties as the Ducks' goaltending consultant to don the pads for the first time since the 2010-11 season with the Lightning. He figures to be available for just Sunday's contest, as the Ducks are expected to recall a younger, unretired goalie from the minor league ranks if Gibson and Andersen are both forced to miss Wednesday's tilt with the Islanders.

According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Toronto Maple Leafs contacted Dwayne Roloson about a goaltending coach opening within their organization. Dreger went on to say that Roloson declined the offer and still wants to play in the league. The job likely would have been with the team's AHL club, since the Leafs hired Rick St. Croix as their new goalie coach on September 18th.
