Kings coach Darryl Sutter thought "it was fitting" that Dustin Brown netted the series-winning goal on Sunday. Brown led the Kings to a 3-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues to complete the four-game sweep. "I think we saw some pretty tough guys score goals tonight," Sutter said. Brown had two goals and four hits for the Kings. He's been superb with six goals and 11 points in nine playoff games. There was a time when the Kings were reportedly shopping Brown. It just goes to show you that sometimes the best deal is the one you don't make.

Dustin Brown scored two goals in the Kings' 3-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. To think there was a time before the trade deadline when the Kings were reportedly shopping Brown. He got hot in the second half of the season and played a key role in helping Los Angeles secure the eighth seed. From there, he has helped them upset the first seed Vancouver Canucks and now the second seed St. Louis Blues. Jordan Nolan netted the Kings' other goal. Anze Kopitar registered his sixth and seventh assists of the playoffs.

Dustin Brown is leading or is tied for the lead in all offensive categories for the Los Angeles Kings in the playoffs thus far. Brown leads in goals with four, points with nine, plus/minus at plus-eight and penalty minutes with 18, in addition to being tied in assists with five. The Los Angeles captain has really come into his own during the playoffs and is one of the leading reasons (Jonathan Quick being the leading reason) that the Kings have won seven of eight playoff games thus far.

Dustin Brown is a prime reason the Los Angeles Kings are having success this postseason. The Kings' captain was really having a down year by his standards, before breaking out with 27 points (of his 54 points) from February to April. He's really finding his groove in the playoffs, as he has nine points -- three of which came in Monday's 5-2 win -- in seven playoff games. Los Angeles averaged 2.29 goals per game in the regular season and has boosted that total to 2.86 in the playoffs. "I don't know [where this team's offense was]," Brown said. "I'm fine with it showing up right now."

Dustin Brown had three assists in the Kings' 5-2 victory over St. Louis in Game 2 of their Western Conference semi-final series. Brown's assist on Anze Kopitar's goal in the opening period was his fourth short-handed point of these playoffs. That is the most since Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg also had four in 2008. Brown, who is 4-5-9 in seven postseason contests, was a plus-3. He is tied with Nashville's Francis Bouillon with a plus-8 on the postseason

The Kings' Darryl Sutter credits the coach he replaced, Terry Murray, for winning the first-round series against the Canucks, just as much as anyone else in the organization. Murray had 139 wins in his just-less-than three and a half seasons, before being fired in December as the team slogged to just a 13-12-4 record. "Terry Murray is just as important to winning this series as anybody." "Because he was a good coach. That's always what happens," Sutter said. 'The coach takes responsibility when players don't perform. He put a lot in place the last two or three years."

Dustin Brown, who has three goals and four points in two playoff games thus far, has been hot since the final quarter of the season. After 61 games, Brown had only 14 goals and 31 points but in his last 21, he had eight goals and 23 points so his current success in the playoffs should be no surprise to his fantasy owners in the regular season. If you can make transactions in the post-season, grab the Kings captain.

LA Kings Captain Dustin Brown scored two goals and added an assists in the Kings 4-2 win to put the Kings up 2-0 in the series. Brown was terrific again, scoring another short-handed goal to put the Kings up 2-1. He has lead by example both on and off the ice and is a great play right now, especially if your pool counts stats like PIM's, shots and hits. Heading into the season, the Kings had big expectations, but since they didn't live up to the offensive expectations in the regular season, this is a huge shocker. Trevor Lewis and Jarret Stoll scored the Kings other two goals.

Dustin Brown had a hand in all three Los Angeles Kings' goals Saturday night, but he and his teammates still fell short 4-3 in a shootout against the Minnesota Wild. Brown had a goal and two assists. The Kings' captain has been on a tear since February, with 22 points in 28 games and five in his last three games. There was a time when many were worrying whether he'd even reach 40 points this season, and he was even the subject of some short-lived trade rumors. Now, he has 21 goals and 52 points. Brad Richardson recorded the other two goals, his first since Dec. 31. Anze Kopitar had three assists.
