Dustin Brown scored a goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night. The goal was Brown's 10th of the season and stood as the only Kings' goal. Brown had a chance to extend the shootout but was denied. The Kings managed over 30 shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. Anze Kopitar recorded his 25th assist in the loss.

Dustin Brown potted a goal and also scored the only goal of the shootout in the Kings' 3-2 win over the Leafs Monday night. The Kings haven't found their stride yet this season and that's primarily because they haven't received nearly as much scoring as one would expect. With the marker tonight, Brown now has 18 points in 33 games this year but has only scored seven goals. Brown is usually a good combination of scoring and penalty minutes and is a good buy-low option if you are also looking for help in the penalty minutes department.

With the two points tonight, Brown now has 17 points in 31 games this year but has only scored six goals. Entering tonight, the Los Angeles Kings are tied with the Anaheim Kings in 28th spot in goals scored and are dead-last in the NHL in five-on-five goals, and captain Dustin Brown is more than trifle concerned about the team's offensive struggles. "We've got to find ways to generate more shots," he said. "I personally think it starts with our neutral-zone play, coming up the ice together. Sometimes we get too spread out. Whether it's a quick counter or a long counter, we've got to be able to identify that, as a group of five, and come up together. Right now, we're really spread out in the neutral zone, which forces us to dump it in. And if we're spread out in the neutral zone, that means we're going to be spread out on the forecheck, and it's hard to turn pucks over with a one-man forecheck, which we're seeing a lot of right now.''

Dustin Brown is back to playing on the right wing with Anze Kopitar and Simon Gagne. Brown had been successful while serving as a left winger, but Dustin Penner's return combined with an injury to Mike Richards has forced the Kings to shake up their roster. "Yeah, and he likes it on the left," Kings coach Terry Murray confirmed. "I've had this conversation with Brownie in the past. He enjoys that, and you see why, from the goal he scored last night. He gets a lot of good looks. But, the one thing playing with Kopi and Gags is that both are very intelligent players, and if Brownie ends up breaking out with possession and he ends up drifting over or attacking from the left side, I think those guys are very capable of reading and making adjustments on their positions."

After a seven-game scoring slump, Dustin Brown finally found the back of the net as the Los Angeles Kings topped the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Thursday night. The Kings now have 30 points in 25 games but really haven't found their stride yet and that's primarily because they haven't received nearly as much scoring as one would expect. Brown had 28 goals last season and has had three 50-plus-point seasons. Right now, he's barely on pace to meet 50 points and 15 goals. Jack Johnson also ended his scoring drought, potting his fifth -- and first in 11 games.

Johan Hedberg stopped all 31 of the Los Angeles Kings' shots, including four from their hard-hitting captain. Dustin Brown (4 shots) and Anze Kopitar (3 shots) were among the players who couldn't solve "The Moose" or the New Jersey Devils' suffocating defense on Tuesday. The most frustrated party might be defenseman Alec Martinez, though; the blueliner registered the game's worst plus/minus (-2) and failed to score despite six SOG. He remains pointless on the season, too.

Dustin Brown scored the power play winner 56 seconds into the second period to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Thursday. It was Brown's second goal of the young season as Mike Richards and Anze Kopitar ably assisted on the winner. Kyle Clifford, with his first of the season, scored the insurance goal with Kevin Westgarth and Matt Greene drew the assists. Brown is a good combination of scoring and penalty minutes and is a good fantasy player in pools that use penalty minutes as a category.

Dustin Brown has won the NHL Foundation Award. The Foundation Award is given to the player who represents the core values of hockey-commitment, perseverance and teamwork- to enrich the lives of people in his community. "You do it because it's the right thing to do, and when you get recognized for something like that, it's a big honor," Brown said of his charity work. "But at the end of the day, the most rewarding part of it all is just giving your time and giving back. A lot of the stuff that I've been doing has been with kids. I can have a huge impact on their lives just by giving an hour or two of my time, here and there." Congratulations to Brown for his fine work off the ice. It was well deserved.
