Duncan Keith put on some extra muscle during his suspension.
He now weighs in at 200 pounds. "I don't think taking a suspension is ever a good thing," Keith said. "But if you're trying to look for the positives, I guess getting some rest at this point of the year would be beneficial. I didn't feel like I needed rest. I've been able to play a lot of games every year." He might actual perform better in the playoffs because he got a chance to rest and get stronger. However, Chicago's final two regular season games will probably be used primarily to shake off the rust.

Duncan Keith has waived his right to have an in-person hearing regarding his elbowing of Daniel Sedin on Wednesday.
The NHL has the option of suspending a player for more than five games in an in-person hearing. The fact that Keith waived his right to such a hearing means that the suspension might be a lengthy one despite the fact that the meeting will over the phone. Keep in mind that the Blackhawks have only seven games remaining in their regular season schedule.

Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet.ca is reporting that Duncan Keith may get more than a five game suspension for his elbow to the head on Daniel Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday.
Keith is having a conference call on Friday and that normally means a five game suspension or less as an in-person hearing is usually more serious. But Kypreos is reporting that the NHL asked Keith to waive his right to an in-person hearing, hence the suspension could be a lengthy one. The call should take place at 2:00PM ET so stay tuned.

Duncan Keith will have a conference call hearing with the NHL on Friday afternoon for elbowing Vancouver's Daniel Sedin in the head on Wednesday night.
If he receives a suspension, and he probably will, it isn't expected to exceed five games because it will take place over the phone, as opposed to an in-person hearing. Keith was assessed a two-minute penalty on the play and Sedin is currently out indefinitely, pending further information. The Blackhawks don't play again until Sunday against Nashville, so there isn't a rush to hand out discipline on the Chicago rearguard.

Duncan Keith might be fined or suspended for elbowing Vancouver's Daniel Sedin during Wednesday's game.
Keith appeared to hit Sedin in the face in the first period. "The puck was up in the air, from what I remember," Keith said. "I'm trying to close my gap and have a good gap on him. Right at the last second, he moves forward and I don't know where the puck is. Like I said, I hope he's OK." Keith was handed a two-minute penalty for elbowing. Sedin left the game and didn't return.
