Duncan Keith has waived his right to have an in-person hearing regarding his elbowing of Daniel Sedin on Wednesday. The NHL has the option of suspending a player for more than five games in an in-person hearing. The fact that Keith waived his right to such a hearing means that the suspension might be a lengthy one despite the fact that the meeting will over the phone. Keep in mind that the Blackhawks have only seven games remaining in their regular season schedule.
