Wideman scored a goal in Thursday's 5-0 pasting of the Hurricanes, his fourth in five games.
Ever since a benching early in the season, Wideman has caught fire. He has five points in his last five games and is finally showing why Calgary gave him such a big contract. Keep him rolling, as he and the Flames have been surprisingly good this season.

Wideman found the net on one of his three shot attempts in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Bolts.
The tally was Wideman's third in four games, and his first power-play point of the season. He's rebounded well since being a healthy scratch Oct. 9, and is just one goal off matching his output from his injury-shortened 2013-14 campaign.

Wideman had a goal, an assist, four shots, two hits, and was a plus-2 in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Quite the night from Wideman, who logged 23:19 of ice time in the victory. He now has three goals and five points in his last three games after opening the season with three straight scoreless efforts. If he manages to stay healthy, there is no reason the offensive defenseman can't net 40-50 points with the Flames in 2014-15.

Wideman scored the opening goal in a 2-1 overtime win over Chicago on Wednesday.
Wideman has had a rough start to the season, getting benched for a game, but that seems to have woken him up. He has one point in five games, but should up that production at least a little bit as time goes on.

Wideman will reenter the lineup Saturday against the Blues, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.
Wideman was sent to the press box for a game after a dismal showing in the Flames' opener, but it appears it was just a one-game banishment. The team will count on Wideman to be a stabilizing force in their top four this season, after he supplied four goals and 17 assists in 46 games in 2013-14.

Wideman will be scratched from the lineup Thursday against the Oilers, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
The highest-paid player on the Flames' roster, Wideman had a brutal game in Wednesday's season-opening loss to the Canucks, particularly on his own end. He also took a big hit from the Canucks' Alex Burrows in the game, though it sounds like he'll only be sitting due to performance reasons rather than injury. In any case, the Flames are hoping the night out of the lineup will motivate Wideman to deliver a bounce-back performance his next time out. Raphael Diaz will fill in for Wideman on the blue line, pairing up with Ladislav Smid.

Dennis Wideman recorded two assists in Calgary's 4-1 victory on Thursday.
Wideman didn't record a point in his previous five contests. He has a solid 17 points in 38 contests, but fantasy owners have also had to endure his minus-15 rating. Despite the Flames current four-game winning streak, Calgary is likely to resume its descent in the not too distant future and Wideman's plus/minus rating should go down further before the campaign's over.

Dennis Wideman logged 38:05 minutes of ice time in Calgary's 3-2 shootout loss on Saturday.
That's what happens when you engage in a line brawl just two seconds into the contest. The officials, in an effort to prevent the game from devolving further, booted four Flames players immediately following the massive melee. That force the remaining players to be leaned on extensively and Wideman was one example of that. Of course, Calgary never needs an excuse to lean on the veteran defenseman, as they already ask him to log 24:59 minutes during an average game.
