Winnik signed a contract with Geneve-Servette HC of Switzerland on Saturday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik was in Bruins camp on a PTO, but evidently failed to impress. It's not uncommon for declining players to continue their respective careers overseas.

Winnik landed a professional tryout agreement with the Bruins, the club announced Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik logged 81 games for the Wild last season, in which he tallied six goals, 17 helpers and 82 shots, while averaging 13:34 of ice time. The veteran winger will likely have a hard time beating out youngsters Danton Heinen, Ryan Donato or Anders Bjork for a spot on the 23-man roster, but might be able to add a level of grit and physicality the team is otherwise missing in the bottom-six.

Winnik accumulated six goals and 17 assists for his second consecutive 20-plus-point campaign in 2017-18.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik is a journeyman who will be able to hit the open market this summer. He's already been under contract by the Maple Leafs, Ducks, Avalanche, Coyotes and Wild through 11 years of NHL service time. He looked pretty good in his bottom-six role with Minnesota, but it remains to be seen which direction that club will head now that Chuck Fletcher is out as general manager.

Winnik had an assist (his 13th) and two blocks in Friday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik has just five points in his last 20 games. The defensive-minded forward could top his 25 points for last season as he has 19 points this season in 68 games. However, his value is on the forecheck.

Winnik notched the secondary assist on Zach Parise's goal in a 3-1 win over the Senators on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Points aren't going to happen often for Winnik, who's on the ice to prevent goals rather than contribute to them. He might be helpful to the Wild's efforts with his ability as a positive player, but his value to fantasy owners is virtually nonexistent.

Winnik brushed twine in Friday's 4-2 road loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik's third goal of the season looked like it might hold up as the game-winner, but the Cats went on a tear in the third period and buried three unanswered goals to win the game. Don't expect much from Winnnik, as he's a penalty-killing specialist manning a checking line.

Winnik is still looking for goal No. 3 of the season, as his drought reaches 24 games.
EDGE Analysis
During Winnik's goalless streak, he has compiled a mere six helpers, nine PIM and 10 blocks. One important factor in the veteran's inability to find the back of the net is his lack of shots, as he is averaging just one per game during his dry spell. The 32-year-old notched 12 goals last season and will almost certainly miss that mark this time around.

Winnik failed to score a goal for the eighth consecutive game during Tuesday's 3-0 win over Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik has carved out an important defensive role in his first campaign with the Wild. He's beginning 54.0 percent of his five-on-five shifts in his own zone and is averaging 2:16 per contests killing penalties. Unfortunately it's led to just two goals, five points and 16 shots through 17 games, and it would be surprising if the offense began to pick up. As a result, it's difficult to rely on Winnik in the majority of fantasy settings.

Winnik had five blocks and 1:35 of power play ice time, but did not have a shot on goal in Thursday's win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik is rarely used on special teams, but he could get some time on the power play the next few games with the Wild having several skaters out with injuries.

Winnik's (personal) visa was expedited to allow him to suit up versus Detroit on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik was in camp on a professional tryout before signing a one-year deal Wednesday. With the ink on his contract still drying, the Ontario native needed to quickly establish a work visa in order to be eligible to play. The 32-year-old will join fellow veteran and new addition Matt Cullen on the Wild's fourth line.
