Winnik scored a goal on two shots during Friday's 3-1 win against Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik hasn't score since his multi-goal game in the second contest of the season, but in his defense the winger has been a healthy scratch four times in-between. The 31-year-old remains off the fantasy radar with just four points to date.

Winnik returned to the lineup in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old forward had been a healthy scratch in the previous four games as head coach Barry Trotz struggles to find ice time for all his skaters in Washington's deep lineup. Aside from a two-goal outburst on Oct. 15, Winnik has failed to make an impact on the score sheet and has very limited value even in deeper leagues even if he can stay in the lineup which is not automatic given the presence of Brett Connolly and Zach Sanford on the roster.

Winnik scored both Capitals goals in a 2-1 win over the Islanders on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Two-goal games are a rare beast for the veteran Winnik, who is a role player who has never scored more than 34 points in a season. And he has only twice tallied more than 10 goals in a season since his debut in 2007-08. Nice night, but he's certainly not fantasy worthy.

Winnik amassed three helpers during Wednesday's 4-2 preseason victory over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik is settling in nicely in his bottom-six role with the Capitals. The winger played just 20 games for the team last year, earning two goals and three assists to go along with 22 PIM. The 31-year-old won't have many games like Wednesday's outburst, but a cool 20 spot should be expected with such a high-octane attack.

Winnik recorded an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
The helper gives him three points in his last three games with the Capitals since being acquired from Toronto on Feb. 29. Leaned upon more for his defensive skills, the 30-year-old forward doesn't possess much fantasy upside outside of deeper leagues.

Winnik found twine twice Friday, pacing the Caps in a 4-1 win over Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
It took eight games, but Winnik finally lit the lamp with his new club after coming over from the Maple Leafs at the trade deadline. Winnik won't provide much by way of fantasy value, though, as he has just 16 points through 64 games despite averaging a decent amount of ice time (over 14 minutes per night).

Winnik was traded to the Capitals on Sunday along with a fifth-round pick in exchange for Brooks Laich and Connor Carrick.
EDGE Analysis
For the second consecutive year, Winnik has been shipped out by Toronto just before the trade deadline. The 30-year-old has really struggled this season, as he's recorded a mere 14 points in 56 contests and could benefit from a fresh start in Washington. Given his lack of production this season, the winger offers limited fantasy value in only the deepest of leagues.

Winnik hasn't picked up a point in 17 games.
EDGE Analysis
He hasn't played particularly well this season. Winnik's production and ice time are down, and he's been playing through a nagging injury that has affected his skating and his ability to bear down on the forecheck. There are reports he's on the trade market, but it's hard to imagine the Leafs will get much in return.

Winnik has seven points in his last 26 games after picking up a remarkable four points in his first four games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik is one of those guys who is better on the ice than in the fantasy arena. He'll get the occasional hit and sometimes fire a shot. But he's really not the offensive type.

Winnik (lower body) returned to the ice in Thursday's 2-1 shootout win over the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
Winnik only missed one game with the lower body injury before returning for 12:39 TOI Thursday. His workload was a bit lighter than it was before the injury, but he should be back to normal before too long. Brad Boyes was a healthy scratch to make room for Winnik to suit up.
