Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) not only plans to return on Friday, but he plans to go all-out. "I feel ready and I feel very confident about going back - otherwise I wouldn't be," said Alfredsson. "I'm not going to be cautious. You've got to be ready at all times on the ice. I've said that before, so it's the same. I think if you don't feel you're ready, you shouldn't start playing again." It's hard to believe that only about a week ago Alfredsson was having difficulty even playing with his kids. Alfredsson has managed to return from other injuries way ahead of schedule over the course of his career, but his most recent recovery might be the most remarkable.

Daniel Alfredsson expects to return from his concussion on Friday night in Buffalo. He participated fully in Thursday's team practice and reported no ill-effects after missing the past five games with post-concussion symptoms. Alfredsson has registered four goals and three assists in 10 games this season. Feel free to activate him if you normally would.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) skated with his teammates at practice Wednesday morning, but a timetable for his return is still uncertain. "Friday was decent, Saturday was so-so, but since Sunday, Gerry (Townend), the trainers have been working on my neck a lot and since then it's been quite a bit better," he said. "It seems like it was coming from the neck and it relieved a lot of the pressure." He won't play on Wednesday but expects to travel with the team on their road trip afterward as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) could join his Ottawa teammates on the road if he passes base line tests scheduled for today. The Senators start a six-game trip Friday at Buffalo and their captain could be with them pending the outcome of the tests. Alfredsson left an Oct. 29 game against the Rangers after taking an elbow from Wojtek Wolski.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) skated by himself for about 30 minutes before his teammates took to the ice for practice. "He said he felt fine," coach Paul MacLean said. "He doesn't have any symptoms. Obviously, he has to take the baseline test (Tuesday) and we'll see from there." There's no timetable for his return at this point, but the fact that he can ride a stationary bike and skate lightly without issues is encouraging. We'll let you know what his test results reveal when they are announced.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) was on the ice Monday. Just days ago, it sounded like Alfredsson would be out indefinitely, but he does have a reputation for returning from injuries way before he's expected to. He's scheduled to have a baseline test on Tuesday. We'll keep you posted.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) was able to ride a bike on Friday. That might not sound like a big deal, but on Thursday Alfredsson said he would get dizzy if he tried to play with his kids, so this is a step in the right direction. He sustained the concussion on October 29th and he isn't expected to return any time soon.

Daniel Alfredsson isn't expected to return to Ottawa's lineup anytime soon from a concussion. He said on Wednesday that he isn't suffering from headaches, but he is experiencing symptoms like lightheadedness. "If I'm at home with the kids, I get a little lightheaded and I have to sit down for a bit and then I feel good again," said the Ottawa captain. "Until that's gone, I'm not going to do anything physical." There is no timetable for his return due to the fact that concussions are different for everyone, but we'll keep you posted on his status.

A concussion will sideline Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson for at least one week. Alfredsson suffered the injury Saturday after he was elbowed by the Rangers' Wojtek Wolski, an injury the required the 16-year vet to be helped from the ice. Alfredsson is 4-3-7 in 10 games this season. Ottawa plays tonight at Boston.
