Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) is expected to return on Monday. Alfredsson missed three playoff contests because of the concussion. This is obviously a huge boost for the Senators, who are just one win away from advancing to the second round.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) is "hopeful" that he will be ready to play on Monday night in Game 6 against the New York Rangers. "We're obviously going to wait until (Monday), but the way the last two days felt, I'm encouraged," he said after skating in the team's optional practice on Sunday. Alfredsson wanted to return back in Game 3, but he suffered a setback in his recovery from a concussion. His return in front of what should be a vocal Ottawa crowd would certainly be big for the team and he could help the Senators' power play, which has scored a mere two goals on 19 opportunities in the series.

There is a chance that Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) could return to action Monday. He is making progress as he skated on Saturday and indicated he may be able to practice on Sunday. If Alfie is on the ice with his teammates Sunday, there is a very good chance he will play Monday. Stay tuned for further updates.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) skated on Saturday. Alfredsson is making progress, but he will not play in Saturday's contest. It would be surprising if he rejoined the Senators before the end of the first round, but given that this is the playoffs, anything is possible.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) will not participate in Game 5 on Saturday. Alfredsson won't even travel with his teammates to New York for the contest. The series will head back to Ottawa for Game 6 on Monday, so it's possible that he'll be available in that contest. That being said, we'd be surprised if he ended up returning on Monday.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) has been working out, but there still isn't any word on when he will be ready to return to action. Coach Paul MacLean said that Alfredsson is making some progress and that "he's feeling better all the time," but he wouldn't speculate when the Senators captain would play again. It doesn't appear as though he will be able to play Saturday in Game 5 though and his status for Monday's contest back in Ottawa should also be considered uncertain.

Daniel Alfredsson, who suffered a setback in his concussion recovery on Tuesday and didn't skate, isn't expected to play against the Rangers in Game 4 on Wednesday night. "At this time, there's no change, no update," said coach Paul MacLean after the Senators captain didn't skate again on Wednesday morning. Alfredsson wasn't able to play in Game 3 on Monday and appears set to miss his second straight contest.

Daniel Alfredsson suffered a setback in his attempt to get back into the lineup after he was concussed by a Carl Hagelin hit in Game 2. After he sat out Monday's Game 3 against the Rangers, there was hope in the Ottawa camp that the captain could be available for Game 4 on Wednesday. That appears to now be iffy at best.

Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) isn't expected to play on Monday, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. Alfredsson was originally listed as a game-time decision after sustaining a concussion on Saturday. He passed a baseline test, but we would have still been surprised if he returned mere days after being concussed.

Daniel Alfredsson suffered a concussion during Saturday's game, but he's still a game-time decision on Monday. Alfredsson apparently passed a baseline test, which is presumably why there's a chance that he'll play on Monday. We would still be surprised if he ended up playing Monday, but it's hard to rule anything out in the playoffs. It's worth noting that he was on the ice Monday morning.
