Anderson agreed to terms with the Senators on a two-year contract extension that averages $4.75 million annually.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson showed tremendous heart and dedication last season, standing by his wife's side as she worked through her throat cancer diagnosis. He logged 40 starts and posted some of his best peripheral numbers as a Senators (2.28 GAA and .926 save percentage) while guiding the Senators to the Conference Semifinals against the Stanley Cup-winning Penguins. The reigning Bill Masterson Trophy winner makes for a solid No. 1 fantasy option between the pipes.

Anderson will be in the blue paint for Monday's preseason opener against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
In a somewhat unconventional move, head coach Guy Boucher has decided to start his No. 1 goaltender -- and a seasoned veteran, at that -- for the first preseason game of 2017-18. That being said, the 2017 Masterston Trophy winner is only slated to play the first half of the game before making way for Danny Taylor.

Anderson wins the Bill Masterton Trophy for his perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication during a difficult personal season.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson appeared in just 40 games for the Senators, but was outstanding during his limited appearances, finishing with a 25-11-4 record, a 2.28 GAA and .926 save percentage. His .941 save percentage at even strength was also the best in the league, ahead of Sergei Bobrosvky and well ahead of Jennings Trophy winner Braden Holtby. Anderson was supposed to take an extended leave of absence when his wife, Nicholle, was diagnosed with throat cancer right before the season, but was pressed into action in late October when Andrew Hammond suffered a groin injury. He then took two months off between December and February to care for wife, but made a triumphant return with a 33-save shutout against the Islanders before winning eight of his next 10 games and ultimately backstopping the Sens to an Eastern Conference finals berth.

Anderson battled through a back injury throughout the Senators' playoff run, Bruce Garrioch of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The goaltender was a big part of the team's success this season and looks to continue that role in the future, so hopefully he'll be able to avoid any lingering back pain before next season starts.

Anderson made 39 saves in Thursday's 3-2 double overtime Game 7 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was once again far busier than counterpart Matt Murray, who faced just 29 shots. While he did a terrific job of shutting down Pittsburgh's top forwards, Anderson surrendered two goals and an assist to 37-year-old Chris Kunitz of all people. His 2.34 GAA and .922 save percentage in 19 playoff games came tantalizingly close to earning a Stanley Cup Finals berth, but the 36-year-old veteran will end up a spectator just like everyone who doesn't play for the Penguins or Predators.

Anderson won't alter his preparation heading into Thursday's Game 7 matchup with Pittsburgh, TSN 1200 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson made an astonishing 45 of a possible 46 saves Tuesday, stonewalling the Pens in order to force this Game 7 contest. On the road this postseason, the netminder is 5-4 with a 2.43 GAA, so fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect too much of a drop off in form. There is little doubt that the outcome of Thursday's clash will largely depend on whether the 36-year-old can keep stars Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel off the scoresheet.

Anderson made 45 saves in Tuesday's 2-1 Game 6 win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Pittsburgh carried play with a 46-30 shot advantage, including a 23-10 edge in the second period, but Anderson outplayed Matt Murray to send this series to a deciding Game 7. While his lone blemish came on an Evgeni Malkin tally 4:51 into the second, the veteran netminder also stopped six shot attempts apiece by Malkin and Sidney Crosby en route to his highest save total of these playoffs. He'll have to shine once again for Ottawa to upset the defending Stanley Cup champs on the road.

Anderson will defend the goal for Tuesday night's elimination game against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's poor showing in Game 5 seemed to be just a classic case of an off-day coming at a very bad time and the same can be said for the rest of the Senators, as the 7-0 loss put them at the brink of elimination. That said, as pointed out by AJ Jakubec of TSN 1200, teams that have lost by 4+ goals in this year's playoffs are 4-1 in their next game. Obviously, that's no guarantee that Anderson and his team will be able to shake off that humiliating loss, but the odds are at least somewhat in their favor.

Anderson was pulled twice Sunday in a 7-0 Game 5 loss to Pittsburgh. He was pulled for one shift in the first and then finally after the first period. He allowed four goals on 10 shots.
EDGE Analysis
It was a Pepto-Bismol night for the entire squad -- Anderson got no help, per se, in the game. He'll be fine in Game 6.

Anderson will be in net for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 36-year-old has stepped up in the Eastern Conference Finals, with a .949 save percentage and 1.48 GAA in the four games against the Penguins. That said, Pittsburgh is tied for the highest goals per game in the playoffs at 2.94, so there is a bit of risk to starting Anderson.
