Anderson surrendered three goals on 28 shots in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson had no answered for the duo of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, who combined for three of the Canadiens' four goals. The Sabres didn't give their netminder any help, and Anderson has now lost four of six games since returning from an upper-body injury. The 40-year-old is 6-6-0 with a 2.92 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 12 outings. The Sabres' road trip continues with a tough opponent in St. Louis on Friday.

At home, the Canadiens have gone 7-17-1 while averaging 2.28 goals for and 31 shots on goal, ranking 31st and 21st, respectively. Anderson allowed six goals on 38 shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
Buffalo actually held a brief 2-1 lead in the first period, but that advantage lasted all of 10 seconds before the Blue Jackets tied it up. Columbus proceeded to score the game's next three goals in the second period and piled on two more in the final minute of the third -- one into an empty net and one against Anderson. The 40-year-old Anderson's a risky option any time he takes the ice, as he no longer has the skills to bail the Sabres out for their numerous defensive lapses.

Anderson made 25 saves in a 3-1 loss to Ottawa on Thursday. He allowed two goals.
EDGE Analysis
It was his first game against the Sens since he left them after the 2019-20 season; he had played 10 seasons with them before inking a one-year deal with the Caps in early 2021. Anderson was beaten on a beauty top shelf backhand by Zach Sanford at 16:04 of the second and a deflection by Austin Watson at 10:49 of the third. Anderson is the Sens franchise leader in games played (435), starts (422) and wins (202). Since returning from injury, he is 2-2 for the Sabres, but the wins came against the lowly Yotes and Habs.

Anderson has gone 6-3-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .916 save percentage over nine performances this season. Anderson will get the starting nod for Sunday's road clash with Montreal, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson will get some extra time off coming out of the All-Star break with Dustin Tokarski between the pipes versus the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Considering the 40-year-old Anderson's extended injury absence, it probably isn't the worst idea to ease him back into a heavy workload. For now, Anderson and Tokarski will split the workload but the imminent return of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body) will create a logjam in the crease.

Anderson surrendered five goals on 35 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson gave up a goal within the first two minutes of each period, and the Sabres' offense couldn't keep pace. It was a tough result for the 40-year-old, who was impressive against the Coyotes on Saturday in his first game back from an upper-body injury. Anderson is now at 5-3-0 with a 2.63 GAA and a .917 save percentage in eight outings overall. He'll likely continue to hold a No. 1 role, but wins could be hard to find behind a rebuilding team.
