Schneider turned away 21 of the 23 shots he faced in Friday's preseason win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Friday was a great opportunity for a final tuneup for Schneider before the Devils' Oct. 9 regular season opener against the Jets. The 29-year-old netminder is once again expected to be a workhouse for New Jersey this season. Schneider went 26-31-9 with a 2.26 GAA and a .925 save percentage last in 69 games with the Devils last season.

Schneider will make his exhibition debut Monday against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider will reportedly give way to Yann Danis in the second half of the contest. For an established goalie like Schneider, at this point, it's all about getting his conditioning up to par in preparation for the rigorous grind of a full season between the pipes.

Schneider made 24 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers. He's had an outstanding statistical season, but wins have been hard to come by (he has eight straight losses to end the season). Still, his 26 wins are the most of his career. His future is bright and his name could be among the league's best in a few short years.

Schneider will start Saturday's game against the Panthers. Keith Kinkaid is slated to start Thursday's game against Tampa Bay, with Schneider -- who is winless over his last seven decisions -- thus slated to make his 68th (and final) start of the season on Saturday.

Schneider played well Tuesday against the Rangers, stopping 36 of 39 shots, but ended up with a 4-2 loss. Schneider made quite a few highlight-reel stops in this one, but the Devils were dominated quite thoroughly by the Rangers throughout the game, getting outshot 39-21. This was a much better effort than Schneider's last start, Saturday against these same Rangers, but they both ended in losses. Schneider's now dropped seven straight.

Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Schneider, who was pulled from Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Rangers 12:24 into the game after giving up three goals on six shots, is eager to bounce back from that rough outing on home ice on Tuesday. "I didn't like how it went, so there's nothing better than just going right back out and playing again," Schneider noted Monday. "I felt good today. I felt sharp. I even felt good the day of (Saturday's) game. It's just sometimes it happens and it gets away from you and you've got to just be better and worker hard the next time."

Schneider was pulled during the first period Saturday after allowing three goals on just six Rangers shot attempts. Things are slipping badly for the Devils and Schneider, who may be in line for his sixth straight loss if his team can't come back. Keith Kincaid replaced Schneider in net.

Schneider is slated to start Saturday's road game against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. With New Jersey set to play back-to-back games, Keith Kinkaid will draw Friday's assignment against Montreal, with Schneider back in net for the team on Saturday. With the Devils on a six-game losing streak (0-4-2), neither Schneider or Kinkaid are high-percentage plays against the two teams that currently top the Eastern Conference standings.

Schneider stopped 28 of 31 in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Blue Jackets -- his fifth consecutive defeat. As usual, Schneider wasn't bad -- in fact, he's snuck into fourth place in the NHL in save percentage -- but the Devils simply don't score much for him. At least when New Jersey's brass is making plans for next year, they won't have to worry about the man between the pipes.
