Schneider allowed just one goal on 27 shots in Sunday's overtime win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider has turned in a pair of strong performances since returning to the team after a brief personal leave, allowing just one goal in each of back-to-back overtime contests. It's only three games in for the 29-year-old, but he's been great thus far, with a 1.63 GAA and .945 save percentage.

Schneider will start in net for Sunday's road game against the Rangers, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider endured quite a workout in Friday's matchup with the Sharks. He denied 33 of 34 shots between regulation and overtime, only to fall in the shootout sequence. It's only been two games but Schneider currently owns a 1.98 GAA, which is better than the current league average (2.47).

Schneider turned aside 33 of 34 shots in regulation and overtime before falling to the Sharks 2-1 in a shootout on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
This was just Schneider's second start of the season after stepping away from the team earlier this week for the birth of his child. He's still looking for his first win, but is nonetheless one of the more reliable fantasy netminders based on the sheer number of games he plays. Last season, the 29-year-old made a whopping 68 starts, and should get the bulk of the work in net for the Devils as backup Keith Kinkaid lacks NHL experience with just 21 career appearances.

Schneider will start in goal Friday againt the Sharks, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider was away from the team earlier in the week due to his wife giving birth, resulting in his absence from Monday's practice and Tuesday's game against the Predators. Schneider has a 3.39 GAA and .901 save percentage in 10 career regular-games stopping pucks from the Sharks.

Schneider returned to practice Wednesday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider missed Monday's practice and Tuesday's game due to his wife giving birth, but returned to the practice rink on Wednesday. Schneider is the clear-cut starter for the Devils and is in line to start 60 games this season if he can stay healthy.

Schneider kipped practice Monday to be with his wife as she gives birth to a child, The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider remains the clear No. 1 goaltender for the Devils, and would likely receive the start Tuesday if available, but therein lies the predicament. Given the expected birth of a child it's unclear if he will be at the rink. If not, Keith Kinkaid would likely receive the starting nod in net, while the Devils would need to recall another netminder to back him up.

Schneider gave up three goals on 30 shots in a 3-1 loss to the visiting Jets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
After weathering a 12-shot barrage in the first period, Schneider was victimized for all three tallies in the second. Despite playing relatively well, the Devils' offense in front of him only managed 21 shots and one goal against opposing netminder Michael Hutchinson, something that was all too familiar last season when they finished third worst (28 of 30) in goals for per game with 2.15. The Devils play again Saturday, and if Schneider -- a true workhorse between the pipes who played 69 games last year -- should get the nod, things won't get any easier when they travel to D.C. to face Alex Ovechkin and Co. in Washington's home opener.

Schneider will be between the pipes in Friday's game against the Jets, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider practiced Thursday after taking Wednesday off for "maintenance", so his status for New Jersey's Friday night season opener was never in serious doubt. The 29-year-old netminder was a workhorse for the Devils last season, posting a 26-31-9 record with a 2.26 GAA and a .925 save percentage. He's in line for a similar workload in 2015-16.

Schneider missed his second-straight practice on Wednesday, but head coach John Hynes said "he should be ready" for Friday's opener against the Jets, Rich Chere of the Newark Star Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider's wife is expecting a child, but Hynes said that wasn't the reason he'd missed practice. While this will be something to monitor ahead of Friday's season opener, it sounds as if Schneider should be ready to go.
