Schneider gave up three goals on 30 shots in a 3-1 loss to the visiting Jets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
After weathering a 12-shot barrage in the first period, Schneider was victimized for all three tallies in the second. Despite playing relatively well, the Devils' offense in front of him only managed 21 shots and one goal against opposing netminder Michael Hutchinson, something that was all too familiar last season when they finished third worst (28 of 30) in goals for per game with 2.15. The Devils play again Saturday, and if Schneider -- a true workhorse between the pipes who played 69 games last year -- should get the nod, things won't get any easier when they travel to D.C. to face Alex Ovechkin and Co. in Washington's home opener.
