Colin Wilson managed to get into a fight with Maxim Lapierre on Thursday. Wilson did not back down and that impressed his coach Barry Trotz who is thrilled with the effort that Wilson is giving him this season. "He's giving you effort," Trotz said. "It's an area where he's showing maturity where he's bringing it every day." Wilson is a highly regarded prospect who had 34 points last season. Fifty points is not out of the question this season.

Colin Wilson logged 18:27 minutes of playing time in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils. After four games, Wilson is averaging 15:57 minutes per contest. While that's not great, it's still a significant step up from the 13:18 minutes per game he played in 2010-11. Wilson had 34 points in 82 games last season, but his production should increase with his ice time. We can see him reaching the 50-point mark in 2011-12.

Colin Wilson is looking for a big season this year. Wilson leads the Predators in scoring with six points in the preseason and will be looking to show everyone that he shouldn't have been benched for most of the playoffs after playing all 82 games last season. "Colin has to take that to heart," his dad Carey who played 10 years in the NHL, said. "It never happened to him before and it probably made for a long summer. He has to learn from it and take the important points from that and be more ready mentally, and accept and key on getting into the team and coach's system." Look for Wilson to be a breakout candidate this season as he could hit the 50-plus point mark.
