Colin Wilson and Brandon Yip, two Boston-area college stars, were held off the scoresheet in the Predators' 4-3 loss to the Bruins in the TD Garden. That didn't happen too often when the two played for the Boston University Terriers. Yip registered 43 points and Wilson 55 when they played together for the Terriers in 2008-09. Although we are sure that both players wanted to produce in front of well wishers, the Bruins did a good job of neutralizing them.

Colin Wilson scored Nashville's game-winning goal on the power play. The promising young scorer now has three points in his last three games, pushing his season totals to eight goals and 11 assists. If you can't get Craig Smith, then Wilson is a pretty solid depth option, especially if he can become a consistent threat.

The Nashville Predators scored a season-high six goals in their 6-5 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night with Colin Wilson leading the way with three points, a goal and two assists. After being down 5-3 midway through the second, Nashville scored three straight to win, and was aided by some very friendly Vancouver goaltending as it only had 20 shots on goal for the entire tilt. Craig Smith also had a three-point night -- all assists -- while Mike Fisher scored his fourth and fifth goals of the year, and what amounted to the game winner with 1:16 left in the third period. Wilson, just 22 years old, has decent potential, and continues to progress from his 34-point rookie campaign. Smith, also 22, has had a superb rookie season, as he now has 20 points in 25 games. Shea Weber had a goal (fifth) and an assist to give him 18 points on the year. David Legwand (sixth) and Jordin Tootoo (fourth) had the other markers.
