Tanev picked up an assist and finished with a game-high plus-4 rating in Wednesday's season-opening win over the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
An outstanding start to the season for Tanev, who also blocked three shots in 22:56 of ice time. The 25-year-old has become arguably Vancouver's most reliable defenseman and should log heavy minutes this season on the top defensive pairing. While he isn't a huge offensive contributor, Tanev isn't afraid to jump into the rush and should build off the career-high 20 points he recorded in 2014-15.

Tanev earned two assists in Friday's Game 2 win over the Canucks.
After wrapping up a career-best 20-point season last weekend, Tanev remained productive in Game 2, setting up the second and fourth Vancouver tallies of the evening. While it's possible the 25-year-old will attain some more offensive involvement in future seasons, he doesn't score quite frequently enough at this stage to attract much interest in fantasy circles.

Tanev dished out a pair of assists in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Tanev just reached the 20-point plateau with the multi-point effort, but it's now the second consecutive contest in which he's collected a pair of assists. The 25-year-old entered the weekend with just two multi-point outings on the season -- the first of which came in the opening game of the year. Despite his impressive back-to-back performances, Tanev hasn't found the back of the net himself since Dec. 20 and likely won't get on the scoresheet with as much regularity going forward.

Tanev registered a pair of assists in Saturday's loss to Dallas.
While it was a good offensive night for Tanev, he was a mess defensively, finishing a minus-2. The 25-year-old now has a career-high 18 points in 63 games, while averaging 20:59 of ice time. He shows flashes of offensive brilliance and his plus-9 rating is solid, but with just 48 shots on goal and two power-play points, Tanev's fantasy value is mostly restricted to deeper formats.

Tanev (upper body) will play Monday against the Ducks.
Tanev suffered a setback in his recovery process last week, but it appears he is ready to go for Monday's contest. Given that he needs to go through protocol before returning, there's no reason to believe he shouldn't be fine moving forward.

Tanev (concussion) appears to have suffered a setback in the recovery process, Blake Price of TSN 1040 AM reports.
After Tanev participated in practice Saturday, the Canucks were hoping to have him available for Tuesday's game against the Sharks, but those plans were dashed when the blueliner failed to get back on the ice the last two days. The extent of Tanev's setback remains uncertain at this time, but the Canucks have recalled Frank Corrado from AHL Utica in the interim to fill out their blue line.

Tanev (upper body) returned to practice Saturday, Elliott Pap of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Tanev looked to be a full participant in the session, joining Luca Sbisa as part of a regular pairing. While such involvement would normally indicate his availability for the Canucks' game Sunday against the Blues, Tanev said after the workout that he would "probably not" be able to play in the contest. Assuming that holds true, Tanev's next chance to play would come Tuesday against the Sharks.

Tanev (upper body) resumed skating back in Vancouver on Wednesday, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 AM reports.
Tanev isn't traveling with the Canucks on their road trip and won't have a shot at playing until the team returns home for a Mar. 1 tilt with the Blues. More likely, though, he'll probably need a few days beyond that date in order for him to pick up some practice time with the rest of the team.

The Canucks placed Tanev (undisclosed) on injured reserve over the weekend.
The team was in need of an extra forward for Sunday's game against the Islanders, so Tanev was placed on IR to facilitate the call-up of Nicklas Jensen from AHL Utica. Tanev has been out since Feb. 14 with the injury, so he'll be eligible to return to action as soon as the Canucks feel he's fully healthy.
