Chris Kreider was struck in the face by a high stick Tuesday night at the 5:05 mark of the third period and didn't return to the game. The Rangers didn't update his status after the contest. It's possible he was just getting repairs though, so we'll leave him as active for now, but he did appear to be in some pain as he lay on the ice. If his status changes then we'll let you know. Kreider skated on a line with Rick Nash near the end of his night, but he ended up with just 7:06 of ice time. He has one assist in six playoff appearances.

Chris Kreider is projected to remain in New York's lineup for Game 7 Monday night. The Rangers will use the same lineup as did in their 1-0 win Sunday afternoon in Game 6, which means Ryane Clowe and Darroll Powe aren't ready to return.

The New York Rangers will insert Chris Kreider back into the lineup for Game 6 on Sunday in part because Ryane Clowe cannot play. Kreider last played on May 2, the only postseason contest he's appeared in so far. His production hasn't matched the expectations he generated after a noisy playoff debut in 2012, but there's still reason to believe that he could figure things out at the top level.

Chris Kreider has been a healthy scratch for the Rangers' past two playoff games. He may not get the chance to play in Game 4 either, even though Darroll Powe's status is uncertain, if Ryane Clowe is able to return from injury. Kreider got just 8:23 of ice time in Game 1 and projects to be an odd man out once the team returns to full health. Kreider had a tough regular season as well and it's safe to say that this season didn't go the way he wanted after last year's successful playoff debut. Still, he remains an intriguing prospect to watch going into next season and beyond.

Chris Kreider thinks the NHL playoff experience he picked up last year will help him this time around. "I think I've learned a lot. I think I've grown a lot as a player," he said. "I'm hoping I can bring more to the team than I did last year and be more consistent and help them win games. Last year, there weren't really expectations, there wasn't any pressure. It was just go and play. Mistakes were made but, at the same time, it was an inconsistency. To be a good pro, you talk about consistency, the same effort every single night. That's the focus." Kreider tallied five goals and seven points in 18 postseason contests last season, but he managed to produce just two markers and one assist in 23 outings with the Rangers over the course of the 2013 regular season.

Chris Kreider played just 7:02 on Thursday night, all of which came on the Rangers' the fourth line. Kreider rejoined the Rangers after being recalled in the wake of Brian Boyle's leg injury. The former BC Eagle has tons of talent but has struggled to find his game in the NHL amid limited minutes and a minimal role. At this point, Kreider remains a long-term prospect who shouldn't be on most rosters.

The Rangers have summoned Chris Kreider from the AHL. The 21-year-old forward hasn't been able to establish a foothold in the NHL this campaign. He has been up and down from the minors and has produced just three points in 17 games with New York. His presence with the big club indicates that Brian Boyle will probably miss some time after getting hurt Tuesday night.

Chris Kreider has been sent down to the minors. The Rangers just brought in Ryane Clowe and Mats Zuccarello, so Kreider may have lost his tenuous hold of a roster spot. He hardly played on Monday night against Winnipeg.

Chris Kreider and J.T. Miller were used sparingly in Monday's win over Winnipeg. Kreider logged a mere 3:23 of ice time, while Miller finished with 7:08 of playing time. Coach John Tortorella hinted that sending them both back to AHL Connecticut was a possibility.

Chris Kreider scored for the first time since Feb. 5 in New York's win over Philadelphia on Tuesday night. His tally made the final score 5-2 but he enjoyed a solid night with four shots during his 13 minutes of ice time. Kreider has notched two goals and one assist in 14 NHL games this year, which has been very disappointing given his potential.
