Kreider (blood clot) has been cleared to come off blood thinners and could return to the ice in a non-contact jersey as early as Wednesday, Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider has been sidelined for nearly a month and a half because of a blood clot stemming from a rib issue, but he appears finally set to retake the ice. The star winger will eventually need to graduate to full-contact practice sessions before rejoining the lineup. More information should begin to surface as Kreider draws closer to retaking the ice for game action, though he could take a major step forward Wednesday.

Kreider (upper body) took a light skate prior to Wednesday's practice, his first time on the ice since undergoing surgery on Jan. 9.
EDGE Analysis
While this news is certainly positive, it shouldn't be interpreted as a sign that Kreider's return to the lineup is in the near future. Rather, Kreider will continue to follow the initial six-week timeline he was given following the operation he underwent and will likely continue to skate on his own as a way to stay in shape for the time being. The next big step in the former Boston College Eagle's recovery will be joining his teammates for practice.

Kreider's (upper body) surgery was a success and he'll be reevaluated in six weeks.
EDGE Analysis
New York's 19th overall pick from the 2009 draft, Kreider had a portion of his rib removed, which presumably takes care of a blood clot that formed in his right arm. There's no clear timetable for the American winger's return, though he did put up respectable totals (11 goals, 11 assists and seven power-play points) through 37 games prior to this devastating medical condition. Dropping him is only advised if you don't have at least one IR spot, and even then, his status will be worth monitoring since Kreider is definitely worth owning under more favorable conditions.

Kreider will have surgery to resect his rib and will be out indefinitely.
EDGE Analysis
Add this to the list of misfortunes for Kreider, who has already sat out three games due to a blood clot in his arm. Kreider has five goals and two assists with the man advantage this season, and the Rangers have struggled on the power play without him, capitalizing on just two of 13 opportunities (15.4 percent). J.T. Miller has been playing a top-six role and significant power-play minutes in Kreider's absence.

Kreider (upper body) will be out indefinitely with a blood clot in his right arm.
EDGE Analysis
You have to feel for Kreider, who's managed 22 points in 37 games and has been integral to the team's power play. The Rangers have responded by calling up prospect Vinni Lettieri from AHL Hartford, and Michael Grabner is likely to remain in a top-six role to compensate for the loss of Kreider, who almost assuredly will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Kreider suffered an upper-body injury during Wednesday's game against the Capitals and was unable to return. An update on his status is expected Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider's next chance to take the ice comes Friday against the Red Wings, but another update on his status Thursday should provide more clarity on the winger's situation and should provide a potential timetable for return. Should he be unavailable, the Rangers could be forced to reach into the AHL ranks for some additional depth up front.

Kreider left Wednesday's game against Washington with an undisclosed injury and won't return.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider logged 5:01 of ice time and fired two shots on net before leaving the contest, and the Rangers will have to fill Kreider's spot on the second line and the top power-play rotation. Expect more updates on the nature and severity of his injury to be available after the game.

Kreider opened the scoring in Friday's 4-2 win over the Kings with a power-play goal.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider snapped a six-game goal drought one night after ending a three-game point drought. He only skated 12:30 in this one, but his 20 shifts were only two fewer than the 22 Kreider averaged over his previous 10 games. After scoring 28 goals a season ago, the power forward's on pace to replicate that total exactly with 11 tallies through 32 games.

Kreider broke a three-game scoring drought with a helper in a 3-2 defeat to Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Kreider has the talent to produce some big numbers, but he's gone six games without a goal now and has only produced two assists in December. We've seen his production come and go in streaks this year, so it might be worth a gamble to buy low on him for when his next streak comes, if your bench has space available.

Kreider recorded two goals, an assist, three shots, two blocked shots and took a minor penalty during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Florida.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a quiet start for the talented winger, but with 10 goals, 16 points and 66 shots through 25 games, the baseline is still in place for Kreider to take a run at a career year. Additionally, he's in the midst of a mini heater with five goals and eight points through his past seven outings. This could prove to be an opportune buy-low spot.
