Cam Barker is expected to be in the Edmonton lineup Friday.
Barker has played the last three games since returning from an ankle injury but has struggled at times. "He had one situation with the puck that he'd like to have back, but I thought he was better at his gaps," said Oilers associated coach Ralph Krueger, in referring to a bad giveaway Wednesday. "I think he can build on that game. We need to be patient with him. We didn't think he'd be playing for another two or three weeks. Look at Ryan Whitney's recovery time from his ankle."

Cam Barker (ankle) might be able to return on Saturday.
Barker started to participate in contact drills on Wednesday. He hasn't played since November 10th and has been limited to just 12 contests this season. "Last year I had problems with my back, but I've definitely never gone through something like this," he said. "But I've worked hard and as far as my fitness goes, I feel great and I'm just looking forward to getting back."

Cam Barker's injured ankle will require surgery to repair, so he is projected to miss at least three months following the procedure.
Coach Tom Renney said the defenseman will undergo surgery in the next day or two. "We're still trying to find out exactly what happened. He doesn't even know," said Renney. "He thought there was something wrong with his skate." Barker hasn't played since Nov. 10 due to the ailment and he is out indefinitely.
