Rust was recalled by the Penguins on Sunday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rust was reassigned to the AHL club in late November after failing to record a point in five games with the Penguins, but he will now rejoin the parent club. The move comes on the heels of news that star forward Sidney Crosby is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, so he'll give the club some depth among the ranks.

Rust (arm) is expected to return to AHL action Friday, the Citizen's Voice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rust was reassigned to AHL Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier in the week, but it appears he's now ready to return to the ice after missing five weeks of action. He'll shake off the rust in the minors and could work his way back up to the parent club eventually.

Rust (arm) has been re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
EDGE Analysis
After injuring his arm against Nashville on Oct. 24, Rust has spent the last 15 games on IR, and will continue his recovery as he returns to the ice in the AHL. Although he was held scoreless in five games with Pittsburgh, there's a chance he's called back up at some point given he gets back to full health.

Rust resumed skating Friday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday marked the first time Rust has skated since suffering a right hand or wrist injury on Oct. 24. He was also able to do some puck handling while on the ice Friday, which is a great sign given the nature of his injury. The 23-year-old winger is now three weeks into the "couple week" recovery timetable he was given on Oct. 27. He will need to return to several full practices before drawing back into the Penguins' lineup, but it appears as though Rust's return to game action is on the horizon.

Head coach Mike Johnston expects Rust to be sidelined a couple weeks with the arm injury he suffered Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
It's not exactly clear what type of setback Rust is dealing with, but he will be sidelined at least two weeks due to his injury. Rust wasn't playing much for the Penguins, but his absence figures to open up ice time for the likes of David Perron, Matt Cullen, and Beau Bennett (undisclosed), who is nearing a return to action.

Coach Mike Johnston said he should have a timeline for Rust's return in the "next day of two."
EDGE Analysis
"It's not going to be day-to-day," Johnston said Sunday. Rust has provided energy with his speed and jumped ahead of other fourth liners such as Bobby Farnham (who was put on waivers Sunday). The forward collected 27 points in 45 games for AHL WIlkes-Barre but has two points in 19 NHL tilts. While he probably won't help many fantasy teams, he does provide Pittsburgh with a fast skater who does well possessing the puck.

Head coach Mike Johnston indicated Sunday that Rust could miss extended time due to a hand or arm injury suffered in Saturday's game against the Predators, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rust didn't accumulate a point in the five game since being recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and now it appears he won't add any in the near future after being struck by a puck Saturday. The timetable remains a bit unclear at this point, but it should be revealed at some point before he returns.

Rust was recalled by the Penguins from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
With Beau Bennett out Thursday against the Senators with an undisclosed injury, Rust was added to the Penguins' 23-man roster to provide some additional depth up front. Rust tallied two points (one goal, one assist) in 14 games with the Penguins last season.

Rust was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Rust was brought up from the minors a day earlier due to the uncertainty of Patrick Hornqvist's (lower body) availability for Tuesday's game. However, after Hornqvist was able to participate fully during the Pens' morning skate, he was subsequently activated from IR, resulting in Rust's demotion to the AHL. The 22-year-old has two points over his 14 games with the Penguins this season.

Rust was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday. Rust was with the NHL team earlier in the month and will get another shot with the Penguins dealing with some injuries up front. The 22-year-old has a goal and an assist in 14 contests this season to go along with 15 points in 28 games at the AHL level.
