He has posted multiple shots on goal in five straight outings, and with Rust averaging 4.4 shots per game in that stretch, it's not surprising to see him score four times. Rust has 12 goals and 28 points in 30 games this season, and he's cementing his place as one of the Penguins' most reliable forces on offense.

As long as he can stay healthy, he should remain productive in a prominent role for the Penguins.

Rust missed two straight practices before returning to the ice for Wednesday's optional session. It doesn't appear as though the ailment will force him to miss any game action. He's been held scoreless over his last five appearances but has recorded a goal, four assists, six blocked shots, five hits and a minus-8 rating over nine outings in November.
