Rust (arm) will not play Saturday against the Coyotes, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rust injured his right arm crashing into the net Thursday and missed the second half of the game. The extent of his injury is not yet known. Jake Guentzel skated in his spot at right wing next to Sidney Crosby during Friday's practice.

Rust (undisclosed) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Rust exited Thursday's game against Colorado after being cross-checked into the Avalanche's net during a two-on-one rush in the second period. The 24-year-old winger won't be reevaluated until the Penguins return to Pittsburgh after Saturday's contest, indicating he could be looking at a long-term absence. The Penguins recalled forward Josh Archibald from the minors Friday to round out their depth up front while Rust and Carl Hagelin (concussion) remain sidelined.

Rust collected two assists with two shots on net and a plus-2 rating during Friday's blowout win over Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
Rust has been a solid secondary scorer for Pittsburgh with 11 goals and 21 points through 42 games. However, he's also missed the scoresheet entirely in 28 games, so it's difficult to know when the offense is going to come. Still, Rust has been playing significant five-on-five minutes with Sidney Crosby, so he's worth owning in most deeper settings for that reason alone.

Rust (illness) "is fine" and will play against Montreal on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The winger missed Friday's practice but is well enough to skate against the Canadiens. Rust has scored four goals and an assist in his last nine contests. He's already totaled 16 points in 34 games, five more than he did as a rookie last year, when he compiled 11 in 41.

Rust did not practice Friday as he is dealing with an illness.
EDGE Analysis
If Rust picked up the same bug that sidelined Olli Maatta (illness), he may not be ready to play Saturday against Montreal. The 24-year-old has been suiting up alongside Sidney Crosby on the Pens top line which boost the fantasy value of nearly any player. If the winger isn't healthy enough to play and Tom Kuhnhackl (lower body) is unavailable, the team will need to make a call-up from the minors.

Rust's two-point effort Tuesday gives him six goals and nine points in his last nine games.
EDGE Analysis
He skated on the right wing with Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary against the Rangers on Tuesday. While Rust doesn't possess the most talented hands on the team, he has become an "X" factor that coach Mike Sullivan often deploys during crucial junctures of games. Rust has totaled only 15 points in 30 contests, but his recent offensive production merits more than a modicum of fantasy consideration.

Rust notched a goal and an assist as well as a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 7-2 shellacking of the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
This was only his third multi-point effort of the season, lifting Rust to 15 points in 30 games -- numbers that don't play outside deep fantasy formats. He's averaging less than two shots a game (though he took five in this one), although Rust does at least pile up hits at a pretty reasonable pace.

Rust scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Boston on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The entire Pittsburgh roster is clicking of late, as the Penguins have scored 39 goals during their seven-game winning streak, and Rust has done his part with six goals, nine points and 19 shots on net over his past 10 games. Still, he's likely best left to deeper fantasy settings and utilized as a low-priced flier in daily contests because the 24-year-old winger is only averaging 12:46 of ice per night. His 15.4 shooting percentage is probably eyeing negative regression, too.

Rust netted his first career hat trick as part of a four-point night in Monday's 8-5 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
His three goals including a penalty shot, an empty-netter and an even-strength marker. Rust rounded out his evening with a short-handed assist. The speedy Notre Dame product entered the contest with seven points in 22 games, but provides Pittsburgh with a strong source of secondary scoring.

Rust collected an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Mike Sullivan moved him to the Evgeni Malkin line and he responded with an inspired performance. Rust is strong on the forecheck but hasn't maintained any kind of offensive consistency thus far in his fledging NHL career. With points in his last two games, the forward has three goals and three assists in 19 contests.
