Brendan Morrison (knee) is projected to be back in Calgary's lineup on Wednesday night in Detroit. He hasn't played since Nov. 4 because the Flames said he needed more time to recover from reconstructive knee surgery. Morrison has appeared in only eight games this season and he doesn't have any points. He skated on the fourth line with wingers Tim Jackman and Tom Kostopoulos during Tuesday's practice.

Brendan Morrison (knee) said he's available and will make his return sometime this week. "The last two weeks have been good for me. We'll see, maybe towards the end of the trip," Morrison said, referring to the Flames current road trip that includes games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The Flames have already activated Morrison off the injured reserve list, but he should still be considered questionable for Monday's contest.

Brendan Morrison (knee) missed Friday's game against Chicago. Coach Brent Sutter stated after the skate in the morning that Morrison was 50-50 to play Friday and the Flames took Morrison off the injured reserve list so technically he was a healthy scratch. Morrison took part in the pre-game warmup but decided he wasn't ready to go. He said earlier on Friday that his problem is not physical but mental. "I've got to be better. The repair is strong," Morrison said. "There's no issue with the repair, so it's trusting it again. I did find myself being very hesitant as far as getting to guys, because I didn't want to get beat and have to chase guys. It's getting the mindset of challenging guys." Morrison last played on November 4 as the Flames have placed him on injured reserve due to inadequate rehabilitation of his ACL knee surgery and is pointless in eight games this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Brendan Morrison has been placed on injured reserve due to inadequate rehabilitation of ACL knee surgery, according to the Calgary Flames. He hasn't played the past two games and it was thought that lingering effects from his knee surgery were giving him difficulty. Consider him day-to-day for the time being and we'll provide updates on his status as we learn more.

Brendan Morrison spent Tuesday's game in the press box. Although Morrison was listed as a healthy scratch, it's worth noting that he is still shaking off the rust after missing the preseason and four regular season contests with a knee injury. He doesn't have much, if any, fantasy value at this time.

Brendan Morrison appears to still be dealing from the lingering effects of his knee injury. Morrison was a healthy scratch on Sunday after failing to record a point in eight contests. He had nine goals and 43 points in 66 games last season, but he'll have a tough time reaching the 40-point mark in 2011-12.

The Calgary Flames center will be a healthy scratch against the Colorado Avalanche on Nov. 6. Brendan Morrison hasn't registered a single point in 8 games so far this season. The Flames are paper-thin at the center position, but the team needs more out of what should be an everyday player. He was surprisingly effective in 2010-11 but his days of being fantasy relevant are likely long gone.

Although Brendan Morrison hasn't gotten a point since returning from a knee injury, he has been surprisingly effective in another category. Morrison currently leads the league with a 61.4% faceoff success rate. That's up from 51.2% in 2009-10 and 49.6% last season. Calgary ranks 28th in the league in faceoff opportunities this season, but if Morrison can keep this up, that should change.

Barring an injury, Brendan Morrison should play in his 900th game on Friday. "It's a pretty neat milestone," Morrison said. "A lot of guys have done it, and a lot more guys will do it. I think most guys are aware of where they're at (in terms of games played). But when you're in the moment, it doesn't really register at all. It's one of those things, when you're done playing, or maybe in the summer, you look back and say, 'That was pretty cool. I was pretty fortunate to be able to do that.'" Morrison missed Calgary's first four games due to a knee injury. He has no points and a minus-two rating in three contests in 2011-12.
