The Calgary Flames have traded Brendan Morrison to Chicago in exchange for Brian Connelly.
Morrison has just four goals and 11 points in 28 games this season. That being said, there's a chance that he could end up centering the Blackhawks second line, so he's worth keeping an eye on immediately following the All-Star break. Morrison, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, has been to the playoffs nine times with six different teams.

Brendan Morrison (upper body) might be ready to return to Calgary's lineup on Saturday.
"He continues to make progress," GM Jay Feaster said. "Part of that will come down to how he continues to progress this week and what Brent wants to do in terms of whether he feels he's conditioned and ready to go. But he continues to do well with his rehab." Morrison hasn't played since Jan. 5.

Brendan Morrison scored his 200th career goal on Sunday.
Morrison had some great years in Vancouver earlier in his career, scoring at least 16 goals and between 51-71 points in every season from 2000-01 to 2006-07. At this point, he doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues, although he does get the occasional stint on one of Calgary's top two lines.

Brendan Morrison registered an assist in Saturday night's 3-0 win over Edmonton.
It was the veteran center's seventh point in his last three games. Morrison is doing a terrific job on Calgary's top line and has seemed to revitalize Jarome Iginla. We suggest you pick Morrison up and benefit from his current situation.

Brendan Morrison set up a couple of power play goals in the Flames 3-2 win on Thursday.
After playing on the top line on the wing Tuesday and garnering four points, Morrison was put on the second line as a center, his natural position. He didn't score at even strength but the two points gave him six in two games after he had missed five games sitting in the press box. He now has seven points in 12 games and has to be in consideration for the first star of the week at this time. Hopefully you had him in your lineup this week but odds are he wasn't.

After scoring two goals and four points as a winger on the Flames' top line, Brendan Morrison will center the second line on Thursday.
That's a bit disappointing, but it's still a step up from where he was recently. Morrison spent five straight games in the press box.

Brendan Morrison was the biggest benefactor of the Calgary Flames' dominant 7-6 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Morrison scored two goals and two assists after coming into the game with just one point on the season. It's probably not safe to assume that Morrison will be a big-time scorer over the long haul of this season, though. Jarome Iginla scored twice and added a helper while getting a rare empty netter than ended up being a GWG.

Brendan Morrison scored a goal in his return from a knee injury on Wednesday.
Morrison missed nearly three weeks so that he could give his surgically reconstructive knee more time to recover. It was Morrison's first goal and point in nine games this season. After a false start, it looks like he might finally be able to put his knee surgery behind him.
