Brendan Morrison (knee) missed Friday's game against Chicago. Coach Brent Sutter stated after the skate in the morning that Morrison was 50-50 to play Friday and the Flames took Morrison off the injured reserve list so technically he was a healthy scratch. Morrison took part in the pre-game warmup but decided he wasn't ready to go. He said earlier on Friday that his problem is not physical but mental. "I've got to be better. The repair is strong," Morrison said. "There's no issue with the repair, so it's trusting it again. I did find myself being very hesitant as far as getting to guys, because I didn't want to get beat and have to chase guys. It's getting the mindset of challenging guys." Morrison last played on November 4 as the Flames have placed him on injured reserve due to inadequate rehabilitation of his ACL knee surgery and is pointless in eight games this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.
