Dubinsky (wrist) participated in contact drills Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic Cleveland reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to the report, this was the first time Dubinsky's taken contact drills in preparation for the 2017-18 season. He went under the knife at the end of May to repair the wrist, and while an updated timetable for his return is still pending, Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella noted that he's "very pleased" by how the top-six pivot looked in the contact training session. At this rate, it wouldn't be surprising to see him be ready for Opening Night.

Dubinsky wouldn't put a timetable on when he would be a full participant in training camp, but said Thursday his surgically repaired wrist was feeling better than it had in two years, Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch reports. "It's getting better every day and that's the most important thing. Fortunately, it's fixed. It's just got a little ways to go in terms of mobility and strength, so we'll keep working at it and see where we get to."
EDGE Analysis
After playing only 47 games in 2014-15 but averaging a career-best 0.77 points per game, Dubinsky has mostly been able to stay on the ice for the last couple of seasons, but he's seen his production decline in each campaign. If that fade was the result of his lingering wrist issue, the 31-year-old could be poised for a rebound season as the Jackets' second-line center once he's finally back at full strength. His status for Opening Night will remain up in the air until he proves he's 100 percent, though.

Dubinsky's (wrist) status for Opening Night against the Islanders remains uncertain, Tom Reed of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
When asked point blank if he would be ready Oct. 6, Dubinsky stated, "I don't know. I will be back as soon as I possibly can," which isn't exactly what fantasy owners were hoping to hear. Even if the center does miss a handful of contests, he should be able to record a third straight 40-plus point season, which likely makes him worth any potential injury risk in most formats.

General manager Jarmo Kekalainen told reporters he is hoping to have Dubinsky (wrist) available for Opening Night against the Islanders, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dubinsky -- who underwent offseason wrist surgery -- was expected to be ready for training camp given the original three-month timeline, however, it seems that his recovery is taking a little longer. The Blue Jackets kick of the season Oct. 6 at home versus New York, which gives the center just over a month to get back to 100 percent. Dubinsky's on ice production -- 41 points last season -- likely outweighs any concerns fantasy owners might have about his availability, even if he were to miss a game or two to start the year.

Dubinsky underwent surgery on his wrist with an expected recovery time of three months.
EDGE Analysis
Dubinsky's three month time frame would have him ready in time for the start of training camp, but the question will be how much additional offseason work he is able to do following the surgery. The team originally expected rest to be enough to get the center back on track, but apparently the wrist was not responding and surgery was required. The 31-year-old racked up 41 points during the regular season but was a non-factor in the postseason, as he managed just one goal and one helper in the opening-round series against Pittsburgh.

Dubinsky tallied a goal, assist, five shots, nine hits and two penalty minutes in a 5-4 overtime defeat in Game 3 of the first round against the Penguins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach John Tortorella shook up his lines prior to Game 3, and it paid big dividends for Dubinsky, who assisted Cam Atkinson's first goal 11 seconds into the game. Dubinsky has been a physical force all series, posting 19 hits in three games, but it's sometimes gotten him into trouble. He's committed two penalties in the last two games, and Pittsburgh took advantage of both. On Sunday, the Penguins took a third-period lead on a power play as a result of a Dubinsky cross-check, but he answered right back with the game-tying goal moments later. Dubinsky nearly won it in overtime, but his shot bounced off Marc-Andre Fleury's mask. Despite his best game of the series, it wasn't enough, though, as Pittsburgh won in overtime to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Dubinsky unloaded for a game-high seven hits in Friday's 3-1 road loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
B-Dub wasted no time showing his grit, crosschecking Niklas Hjalmarson up high just 28 seconds into the contest. Unfortunately for the forward, the Blackhawks' Artemi Panarin converted a man-advantage goal just seconds after he sat down in the box. Dubinsky failed to record a point in the losing effort, but he's reached the 40-point mark for the second straight campaign while achieving a career-high plus-22 rating. The only complaint from fantasy owners should be his relative lack of production on the power play -- he's only registered one goal and three helpers in that situation.

Dubinsky (undisclosed) took part in pregame warmups before Saturday's game against the Senators, Tom Reed of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dubinsky missed practice Friday, but coach John Tortorella called it "maintenance," so all signs point to him being good to go for this matchup barring a setback.

Dubinsky left practice Friday with an undisclosed injury, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jackets initially downplayed the situation, and coach John Tortorella wrote Dubinsky's absence off as "maintenance", but the fact that center T.J. Tynan was called up from AHL Cleveland later in the day puts Dubinsky's status for this weekend's back-to-back games in question.

Dubinsky was the hero for the Blue Jackets on Friday, sniping home the game-winner in overtime to the misfortune of the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
B-Dub benefited from a perfectly-timed screen from Cam Atkinson and then roofed the puck top-shelf behind Matt Murray. The power-play pivot has been an absolute monster in the month of February, ringing up four goals, six assists, 37 hits, and a plus-9 rating over that span. However, the major downside is that he hasn't recorded a power-play point in 28 games.
