General manager Jarmo Kekalainen told reporters he is hoping to have Dubinsky (wrist) available for Opening Night against the Islanders, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dubinsky -- who underwent offseason wrist surgery -- was expected to be ready for training camp given the original three-month timeline, however, it seems that his recovery is taking a little longer. The Blue Jackets kick of the season Oct. 6 at home versus New York, which gives the center just over a month to get back to 100 percent. Dubinsky's on ice production -- 41 points last season -- likely outweighs any concerns fantasy owners might have about his availability, even if he were to miss a game or two to start the year.
