Wheeler's sixth and seventh goals of the year led the Jets past Carolina by a 3-1 score Thursday. Wheeler opened the scoring in the first period and then put the Jets back in front for good in the second. This represents his third multi-point game in the last five, and he's got three goals and three assists in that span despite having gone scoreless in the last two games. Consistency's been an issue for Wheeler, but he appears to steadily be getting his game on track.

Wheeler collected two assists, three shots on goal, five PIM, four hits and a plus-1 rating in Thursday's shootout loss to the Penguins. Well, you can't pin the loss on Wheeler, who's got consecutive two-point outings under his belt now, as he even did his part in the shootout, beating Marc-Andre Fleury in the first round. Wheeler picked up a power-play assist and scored an empty-net goal in Tuesday's win over the Preds. He needed an empty-netter to do it, but it's still Wheeler's first multi-point game since the season opener. If not for the lockout in 2012-13, Wheeler would probably be going for his fourth consecutive 60-plus-point season this year, so expect him to pick up the pace.

Wheeler tallied the Jets' lone goal in Thursday's loss to the Devils. Wheeler has a respectable six points in 10 games, but three of the them came in the season opener, making his more recent production fairly unimpressive overall. He did welcome back Evander Kane (knee) to his second line on Thursday, which may allow Wheeler to deliver more frequent points over the games to come.

Wheeler was held out of Saturday's practice for maintenance purposes, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Coach Paul Maurice indicated after the session that Wheeler would be fine to play Sunday against the Flames, so there doesn't seem to be a need for much concern here. The winger may have gotten a bit dinged up after blocking a Shea Weber shot attempt in Friday's game against the Predators, but should be fine after taking a therapy day.

Wheeler scored twice and added an assist in Winnipeg's 6-2 win over Arizona Thursday. Wheeler's goals, which were separated by just 15 seconds, both came in a four goal first period for the Jets. He also assisted on Dustin Byfuglien's goal in the second, totaling three points in 15:42 minutes of ice time. He appears poised to build on his breakout campaign from the 2013-14 season.

Wheeler finished the preseason with one goal and one assist in four games played. Wheeler had his strongest season as a pro in 2013-14 and is projected to put up similar offensive numbers this season. He is expected to be on the second line with Mark Scheifele and Evander Kane this season which could benefit them since they won't see the toughest matchups every night. Wheeler has played in every game the past two seasons so his durability should not be in question heading into 2014-15.

Winnipeg forward Blake Wheeler was held without a point in Monday's 1-0 shutout loss to the Wild. It's been a rare occurrence to see Wheeler held pointless of late, as the talented winger had scored in five of his last six games entering Monday. After a mildly slow start to his campaign, the US Olympian has been dynamite ever since and has now amassed 67 points on the year.

Blake Wheeler scored a goal in Winnipeg's 5-4 overtime loss to Anaheim Monday evening. Wheeler has now scored a goal in three straight games and he has five points overall in his last three games. He now has 27 goals and 37 assists in 74 games this season. Jacob Trouba, Matt Halischuk and Eric Tangradi also scored for the Jets.

Blake Wheeler tickled the twine in Winnipeg's 4-2 loss to the Kings on Saturday night. Wheeler's power play goal came at 8:56 of the third period. The rangy winger has taken his play to another level this season, tying his career-high in points with 64 and easily surpassing his career-best in goals with 27. Matt Halischuk scored the other goal, his fourth of the season.
