Wheeler's streak continued, as he's now registered a point in all eight games to start the season. The first line of Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little, and Wheeler has been extremely effective thus far, and all three look like strong fantasy options as the line continues to click.

The 29-year-old winger has been superb in the early going, scoring in the first two games of the season for the Jets. Wheeler has been the right-hand man to Andrew Ladd, as he's been involved on all three of his points this season. With yet another point packer in Bryan Little centering the two, Wheeler remains a fine fantasy option in several league formats.

At the time, the tally gave Winnipeg a 2-1 lead after Andrew Ladd generated a turnover behind the net and hooked up Wheeler in prime scoring territory. After collecting 60-plus points in each of the last three non-lockout-shortened seasons, Wheeler's as good a bet as any to hit that mark again this year on the Jets' top line.

Wheeler (rest) will sit out Saturday's game against the Flames, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports. The Jets secured their spot in the playoffs earlier this week and will have the luxury of resting Wheeler, along with several other key regulars for a largely meaningless regular-season finale. Wheeler will finish the campaign with 26 goals, 61 points, and a plus-26 rating over 79 games.

Wheeler contributed a shorthanded goal on his seven shot attempts in Sunday's loss to the Blackhawks. The shortie, Wheeler's fourth of the season, gives him goals in three consecutive games. He's poised to fall short of last season's career-best mark of 69 points, but with his plus/minus rating jumping from plus-4 to plus-24 in 2014-15, his fantasy value has held steady.

Wheeler now has tallied 57 points on the season, good for second most on the Jets behind teammate Andrew Ladd. He's racked up 13 points in his last 11 games alone, and will look to keep his hot streak going on Thursday against the formidable Canadiens.

It's quite the serious streak, as Wheeler's racked up five goals and four helpers over the Jets' last five contests. He's almost certainly going to fall short of last season's 69 points, but fantasy owners won't complain if and when he finishes somewhere in the mid-60s.

Wheeler scored his 20th goal of the season in Winnipeg's 2-1 win over Tampa Bay. The goal was the game winner. His production is down slightly from last season, but his scoring has been clutch -- this was his fifth game winner of the season and that sets a career mark. And he's been ripping it of late -- he's riding a four-game, six-point (three goals, three assists) streak and he has 11 points, including five goals, in his last 10 games. Use with confidence.

Little (upper body) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports. It isn't clear how serious Little's injury is, but at this point in time he should be considered day-to-day. He may be able to return to action Tuesday against the Sharks.
