Bishop gave up four goals on 20 shots in a 4-3 loss to Team Czech Republic on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Big Ben failed to impress in his lone appearance for Team USA at the World Cup, getting yanked after 40 minutes of play. Granted, the Americans had nothing but pride to play for and their brass probably decided to pull Bishop to get Corey Schneider some crease time, but it was still disappointing nonetheless. With just under three weeks until the puck drops on the 2016-17 NHL season, Bishop will have plenty of time to get his mind right before resuming his role as the Lightning's No. 1 netminder.

Bishop will start in net for the United States' game against the Czech Republic on Thursday, Joe McDonald of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After two poor starts from incumbent starter Jonathan Quick, Bishop will be between the pipes for the first time all tournament. Bishop is coming off a fantastic season for Tampa Bay where he posted a league-best 2.06 GAA and a .926 save percentage that was good enough for second in the league.

Bishop (ankle) is ready to go for the World Cup of Hockey, CBC reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop strained ligaments around his ankle in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which prompted the Bolts to unleash Andrei Vasilevskiy against the eventual Stanley Cup champion Penguins. Hockey pundits expected the two-time Vezina Trophy finalist to be traded during this year's draft, but Bishop remains property of the Lightning with the season just over a month away. As the franchise leader in wins (115) and shutouts (16), Bishop is expected to be one of the first fantasy goalies off the board ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

Bishop (ankle) is expected to be cleared in time for the World Cup on Hockey, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reported Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop, who was injured during the Eastern Conference Finals, appears to be on track to participate in the World Cup of Hockey, although it remains unclear who will start for Team USA; Bishop or fellow netminders Jonathan Quick or Cory Schneider. Regardless, fantasy owners and fans alike will be thrilled that the 29-year-old can shake off any post-injury rust prior to the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Bishop's (ankle) chances of starting the season in Tampa Bay grew Friday night when he wasn't traded during the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
EDGE Analysis
A few teams needed goaltending this offseason, but the Leafs solved their issue pre-draft and the Flames picked up Brian Elliott from the Blues on the draft floor. TSN's Bob McKenzie reported on-air that the Flames had been given permission to discuss a potential contract with Bishop's camp, but those talks were never initiated. The goalie market has softened now, so Big Ben will likely be in a Bolts uni come training camp.

Bishop has reported no issues with his ankle as it pertains to his offseason workout regimen, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fantasy owners holding Bishop in keeper leagues can breathe a collective sigh of relief as the ankle injury that Bishop sustained in Game 1 of the conference finals versus the Penguins appears to be a non-issue with the Bolts' offseason underway. It will be interesting to see if he remains in Tampa at a cost of $5.95 million given that fellow goalie Andrei Vasilveskiy made a strong case for more playing time in 2016-17.

The Lightning are at the salary cap ceiling and has cap issues going forward, and that could mean Bishop (ankle) and his $5.9 million contract are traded this offseason.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop's value has never been higher coming off a season in which he led the NHL in goals against average and was the only goalie to finish in the top five in wins, save percentage and shutouts. But he has full no-move clause in his contract. Still, Andrei Vasilevskiy's strong performance during the Eastern Conference finals shows he's ready for more playing time. The Bolts may still go with its current tandem, but moving Big Ben and rolling with the lower-cost Vasilevskiy could make real cap sense.

Bishop clarified that he had strained ligaments around his ankle as the result of his injury sustained in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop told reports that he had trouble dropping into the butterfly position, but might have been ready by Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals had the Lightning defeated the Penguins in Game 7 of the conference finals. The big goalie was spectacular before suffering the ailment, finishing his second straight postseason with a 1.85 GAA through 11 starts. With that playoff injury evidently not too serious, there's no need to bump him down your fantasy rankings ahead of the 205-16 season; in fact, he should be one of the first tenders off the board.

Bishop (leg) will be out of the lineup for Thursday's Game 7 matchup with the Penguins, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop told reporters he is hoping to return during the Stanley Cup Finals, but you have to wonder if coach Jon Cooper would even consider pulling Andrei Vasilevskiy given his stellar performances thus far. There are a lot of ifs surrounding Bishops potential return but if he is healthy enough and if the Lightning can advance, there's a chance the netminder could find himself back in goal.

Bishop (leg) is not likely to play in Game 7 on Thursday. "It's still not quite there. You can't just jump right in," said the goalie in a report by Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop reportedly wasn't moving as well as he could be during the morning skate Tuesday - ahead of Game 6 - which turned out to be a 5-2 home loss to the Penguins. He still hasn't played in the conference finals since sustaining his leg injury in Game 1. Those owning the big tender in playoff leagues can only hope the Lightning advance to the Stanley Cup Finals to give Bishop more time to recover.
