Andrei Markov is not expected back in the Montreal lineup until after the All-Star game.
Markov had successful knee surgery in early December and has yet to play a game this season after playing only seven times last year. The Habs could really use his offensive prowess in their lineup but he has been a very risky pick over the last three seasons as he only played in 45 games two years ago. Proceed with caution as he is always going to be an injury risk for the remainder of his career.

Andrei Markov had successful knee surgery on Monday.
Markov was originally expected to miss a few more weeks due to the surgery, but he's now projected to be out for up to six weeks. He hasn't played so far this season.

Andrei Markov (knee) needs to undergo an arthroscopic surgery, which will delay his return by another few weeks.
"Markov's knee is almost at full strength," Canadiens GM Pierre Gauthier said. "He's undergoing arthroscopic surgery to clean up debris." Markov hasn't played since signing a three-year/$17.25 million contract over the summer. It was a very risky move by the Canadiens, seeing as he had only played in 52 games over the previous two seasons and so far it hasn't paid off.

Ultimately, Andrei Markov (knee) will decide when he's healthy enough to return to the Canadiens' lineup.
Canadiens coach Jacques Martin reportedly made it sound like Markov would already be playing if it was up to the coach. Markov might be erring on the side of caution because he returned from a knee injury last season only to reinjure it seven games later. Markov will not be available for Saturday's game against Los Angeles, but he hasn't been ruled out for Tuesday's contest. Stay tuned.

Andrei Markov (knee) will travel with the Canadiens during their upcoming three-game road trip.
Montreal will play in Anahim on Wednesday, San Jose on Thursday, and Los Angeles on Saturday. "He's been practicing with the team for the last couple of weeks and while I don't have an exact date yet, I think I mentioned last week that I felt that this week would be a good test for him," Canadiens coach Jacques Martin said of Markov. "It's a chance for him to have some good intense practices, do a lot of grunt work, a lot of competing, some defensive zone coverage, some one-on-ones. So we'll just have to wait and see, but we're going in the right direction." We'll keep you posted.

Andrei Markov (knee) is on the ice for practice Tuesday and has been cleared for contact.
This is a big step for Markov who has yet to play this season. He wasn't expected to return in November but with only a week remaining in the month, he could return in early December. The Habs could really use him to quarterback their power play. If, for some reason he is available in your pool, pick him up quickly as he is a top-ten offensive defenseman when healthy.

Andrei Markov got back on the ice Monday with his teammates at practice for first time since suffering a knee injury more than a year ago.
He has been skating on his own for the past week, but this is a good sign in his long recovery process from his troublesome knee. There's no timeline for his return, but we'll keep you posted on his progress.

Andrei Markov is expected to be 1-2 weeks away from practicing with the team.
Reports from Montreal GM Pierre Gauthier indicates that Markov was pushed to the limit by a team of specialists (including Dr. James Andrews) in Florida and his knee is responding well. He will skate on his own before joining his teammates in practice in about 1-2 weeks.
