Anders Lindback is the likely starter in goal for Nashville Sunday. Pekka Rinne has played the last seven games in a row and with the Predators playing in Los Angeles last night, it seems that the start should go to Lindback. He has yet to win in six starts this season.

Andres Lindback will make a rare start for the Predators. He will be between the pipes against the Kings Saturday as the Preds have a contest against the Ducks Sunday and Pekka Rinne certainly could use a night off. It will be only the seventh game Lindback has started this season.

"In all fairness, we weren't as sharp in front of him, and we've given him those games where we're asking him to play a perfect game. And with him not playing - his last game was a month ago - it is very difficult," coach Barry Trotz said. "But at the same time, that's part of life in pro hockey, and especially in the backup position. I think he's going to be an outstanding No. 1 goaltender."

It was a rare start tonight for Lindback, who hasn't been getting a lot of playing time this year because of Pekka Rinne's stellar play in nets. The Swedish netminder now sports a 2-6-0 record on the season.

Anders Lindback will give Pekka Rinne a night off on Thursday and start in Philadelphia. "I don't want Lindy not to play forever. He played here last year and he's used to this rink," coach Barry Trotz said. Rinne is on pace to play over 70 games this season and Lindback hasn't seen any action since Jan. 17.

He played well in the contest, but received no offensive support, dropping his record to 2-5-0 for the year.

Anders Lindback has been sent to the minors. Anders Lindback hasn't been getting a lot of playing time and the Predators don't have another back-to-back set until January 16th and 17th. With that in mind, this move was probably made so that Lindback could stay sharp by starting in some AHL contests.
