Anders Lindback has signed a two-year/$3.9 million deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Lindback was a restricted free agent. The Lightning acquired his rights from the Nashville Predators in the hope that Lindback could serve as their starting goaltender for quite a long time. In the short-term though, he'll probably battle for playing time with Mathieu Garon.

Anders Lindback will enter training camp with the goal of being Tampa Bay's starting goaltender, but he isn't taking anything for granted.
"I haven't been a starter in the NHL, so I can't just anticipate I'm just going to come in and play," he said. "I've got to work hard and prove myself. My goal is I want to win and play games and win the (Stanley) Cup. That's why I play." Lindback has 38 games of NHL experience under his belt in the last two seasons with Nashville, but he does have plenty of upside and he'll get a great opportunity to be the man with the Lightning.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have high hopes for newly acquired goaltender Anders Lindback.
Tampa Bay got Lindback from Nashville on Friday. "We think he has the ability to become a No. 1 goalie soon, but it would be wrong to sit here today and say he's our No. 1 goalie," Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said. "We think he has really good potential, and we're going to let him develop at the right pace." It remains to be seen if Lindback will be the Lightning's opening game goaltender, but he should get plenty of playing time in 2012-13. He's a nice goalie to gamble on late in standard fantasy drafts and his keeper league value has increased dramatically now that he's in Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired Anders Lindback, Kyle Wilson and a seventh-round draft pick from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Sebastien Caron, a pair of second-round picks, and a third-round selection.
Lindback didn't come cheap, but the Tampa Bay Lightning now have a promising young goaltender. Although he only has 38 games worth of NHL experience under his belt, it would not be surprising if Lindback began the 2012-13 campaign as the Lighning's starter. He's certainly a risky selection in fantasy drafts, but there's enough potential there to make him worth taking a chance on. Lindback is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer, so the Tampa Bay Lightning's next step will be to ink him to a new agreement.

Anders Lindback (upper body) practiced Tuesday and coach Barry Trotz feels good about his availability for Game 1 against Detroit.
Lindback was hurt Saturday when teammate Ryan Ellis fell on him during a game against Colorado. The goalie missed Monday's practice session, but should be good to go as Pekka Rinne's backup for Game 1 on Wednesday.

Anders Lindback (upper body) didn't take part in practice Monday.
The backup netminder left the Nashville Predators' game on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche after colliding with teammate Ryan Ellis and it appears he's still feeling some of the aftereffects of that. Preds coach Barry Trotz isn't concerned, and he expects Lindback to be back Tuesday. Jeremy Smith was called up from the American Hockey League to fill in.

Anders Lindback was not seriously injured in Saturday night's 6-1 win over Colorado.
He was forced to leave the game in the third period after a collision with teammate Ryan Ellis. It appeared that Lindback sustained an upper-body injury of sorts but was not seen favoring any body part in the dressing room after the game. Consider Lindback day-to-day for now.

Anders Lindback was brilliant in Nashville's 6-1 rout over Colorado in the season-finale for both teams.
Lindback kicked out 34 of 25 Avs' shots but was forced to leave the game in the third period after he was apparently injured following a collision. Despite not finishing the contest (Pekka Rinne stopped 10 shots in relief), Lindback was selected as the game's first star. Consider the Preds' backup netminder day-to-day for the time being.

Anders Lindback helped the Nashville Predators cross the 100-point barrier thanks to a 2-1 shootout win against the Minnesota Wild.
Lindback rarely sees any time in net - this is just his fourth appearance since Feb. 28 - yet he tends to play well in his rare opportunities. He's only allowed five goals in his last three starts while going 2-1. One can only imagine what he would do with more chances because Pekka Rinne isn't going anywhere.

Anders Lindback will start for the Predators tonight against visiting Minnesota.
Tonight will be Lindback's first action since he relieved Pekka Rinne on March 20 in a 6-3 loss to Edmonton. His last start was March 18, a 3-1 win at Anaheim. Lindback is 3-8-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .901 save percentage.
