Lindback entered with the Stars down 2-0 midway through the first period Tuesday, and he ended up stopping 34 of 36 and riding a surge of offensive support to a 5-4 win over Ottawa. An ineffective Kari Lehtonen gave way to Lindback, who turned in arguably his best outing of the season. Interestingly, Lindback has ended up with the decision in all three of his relief appearances -- in fact, both of his wins on the year have come in relief. His stats have been hideous, so he can't be much of a threat to Lehtonen even with how poorly the Finnish goalie has played this year (and recently).

Lindback was tagged for four goals on just 20 shots by the Jackets in Tuesday's 4-2 loss. Just another ugly outing for Lindback, who continues to struggle mightily on the rare occasions when he gets the call in net. He's 1-6 on the year, and that lone win came in a Dec. 21 relief appearance against the terrible Oilers. Lindback isn't worth owning in the vast majority of formats at this point, and he could eventually end up getting displaced from his backup role by Jussi Rynnas.

Lindback is on track to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jackets, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Lindback was the first goalie off the ice following the Stars' morning skate, which puts him on track to start Tuesday for the first time since Nov. 29. Assuming Lindback gets the nod Tuesday, he will square off against a surging Columbus team that has lost just three times since the beginning of December.

Lindback saved nine of the 10 shots he faced in 35:39 minutes of action after replacing Kari Lehtonen in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win against the Oilers. It's his first win of the season as he now sports a 1-5-0 record, though the 26-year-old will likely see limited action unless Lehtonen continues to struggle.

Lindback is expected to start one of the Stars' upcoming games in Western Canada -- likely Wednesday against Vancouver or Friday against Calgary -- according to the Dallas Morning News. After an 0-5-0 start to the season, Lindback was sent to the AHL to regain his confidence. As long as Kari Lehtonen remains healthy, Lindback figures to see very limited opportunities in Dallas.

Lindback wasn't spectacular but held the fort as long as he could. The 6-foot-6 Swedish netminder has struggled all season and is still searching for his first win. He's considered one of the league's weaker backups at the moment.

Lindback has really struggled this season, but he will get the nod Saturday to give regular goaltender Kari Lehtonen a night off. Lindback will face off against a Colorado team that has won four of six entering Saturday's game.
