Alexander Radulov could have problems coming to the NHL as his KHL team continues to practice.
Radulov's KHL team, Ufa, was eliminated from the playoffs but they do things differently across the pond as his team does not want to release him from his contract. "We are under the KHL jurisdiction, and this matter must be resolved in a legally sound way," his Russian agent, Yuri Nikolaev, told Yahoo. "We don't want to break the law. Nashville made a very good offer to Radulov that he could satisfy the entire last year of his entry-level contract by playing a few games. We are searching for the right way out that would allow Alex to go to the NHL." Stay tuned as this soap opera saga is not over.

Nashville coach Barry Trotz said the team should have a good feel by the weekend as to whether Alexander Radulov is returning to the club.
Radulov last played for the Predators in 2007-08 when he scored 26 goals. He bolted for his native Russia and, with his KHL team out of the playoffs, the 25-year-old has had discussions about joining his former team - with whom he is still under contract. Radulov could return for the balance of the regular season and playoffs.

If Alexander Radulov decides to join the Predators this late in the season, it could have a negative impact on the team's chemistry.
"It takes away from the guys we have on the team when we talk about other guys coming in, and guys who have been here all year and worked hard all year," Ryan Suter said. "It's going to be a fine line we're going to have to walk if he does come back." To an extent, the same could be said for almost any major player acquired at the trade deadline. There are a couple differences though. For one, Radulov would be joining the team several weeks after the deadline, which means they'll have even less time to adapt before the playoff start. The other issue is that Radulov left the Predators while he was still under contract to play in Russia. The Predators will try to put that behind them if Radulov returns, but it still might be a subtle factor. Still, Radulov could be one of their top forwards if he decides to play this season.

Predators GM David Poile is "cautiously optimistic" about Alexander Radulov's chances of joining his team this season.
Keep a very close eye on this situation as Radulov is worth grabbing as a late season addition should he return to Nashville. He's also eligible to participate in the playoffs. He would be a risk given how long he's been away from the NHL, but we still wouldn't be surprised if he led the Predators in points in the postseason. Radulov had 80 points in 54 KHL games last season and 63 points in 50 KHL contests in 2011-12. He had 26 goals and 32 assists in 81 games with Nashville back in 2007-08 before he left the NHL.

Alexander Radulov will be allowed to participate in the playoffs if he decides to rejoin Nashville.
That would be a huge boost for the Predators. Radulov hasn't played for them since he abandoned his contract to join KHL Ufa Salavat Yulayev following the 2007-08 campaign. However, if Radulov joins the Predators now, he'll fulfill the final season of his entry-level contract and become a restricted free agent this summer. Radulov is also exempt from waivers, which players typically need to go through in order to return to the NHL after playing in Europe.

If Alexander Radulov wants to return to the Nashville Predators, then he can do so without having to clear waivers.
Players from European leagues who attempt to return to the NHL normally have to clear waivers, but the NHL and NHLPA have agreed to make an exception in this case. Radulov is already under contract with the Predators, but he left the club following the 2007-08 season to play with the KHL Ufa Salavat Yulayev. Radulov has spent four straight seasons in the KHL, but as far as the NHL's concerned, he still has one season left on his contract with Nashville. If Radulov decides to play, he will burn the last season of that contract and become a restricted free agent this summer.

With Alexander Radulov's KHL club out of the playoffs, there's a chance that he could play for the Nashville Predators.
Radulov had a contract with the Predators when he bolted for the KHL and it's set to expire following the 2011-12 campaign. If he rejoins the team, he would be a restricted free agent this summer. Radulov had 26 goals and 58 points in 81 games with Nashville in 2007-08 and hasn't played in the NHL since. He scored 25 goals and registered 38 assists in 50 KHL contests this season.
