Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Wilson will remain the Jets' starting quarterback, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saleh reiterated that offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett also will continue to call the offensive plays. Wilson has been dreadful this season, checking in at 31st in completion percentage (59.8 percent), 30th in touchdown throws (five) and 29th in yards per attempt (6.1), while the Jets have been downright bad on third downs. The Jets don't seem willing to give Tim Boyle any starts and are going to keep riding it out with Wilson despite just one offensive touchdown over their last three games.

Wilson completed 23 of 39 passes for 263 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 16-12 loss to Vegas. He added four rushing attempts for 54 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson looked like he had scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter, but he stepped out of bounds at the three-yard line before diving to the pylon, and the Jets wound up settling for a field goal on that drive. That was one of four field goals that accounted for all of New York's points, as the Jets failed to score a touchdown for the second consecutive game. Wilson got New York's penultimate drive to Vegas' 20-yard line before throwing an interception with 1:22 remaining, and his pair of Hail Mary attempts at the end of the game both fell incomplete. With Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) over a month from returning even in the best-case scenario, the 4-5 Jets will likely stick with the struggling Wilson in Week 11 against the Bills.

Wilson completed 33 of 49 passes for 263 yards without a touchdown or interception in Monday's 27-6 loss to the Chargers. He added two rushing attempts for seven yards and fumbled three times, losing two.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson struggled but didn't get any help from the rest of New York's offense, which has produced just three touchdowns in the last four games. He was sacked eight times behind an unsuccessfully rejiggered offensive line, and numerous drops and penalties didn't help matters. While a significant chunk of Wilson's yardage came with the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, he should have at least had a late touchdown, but C.J. Uzomah dropped a ball that hit him in the chest in the end zone. Coming off this hollow season high in passing yards, Wilson will bring a 5:5 TD:INT into a Week 10 road game in Vegas.

Wilson completed 17 of 36 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 13-10 overtime win over the Giants. He added four rushing attempts for 25 yards and lost two fumbles.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson fumbled on the opening drive, leading to a Giants field goal, and after the Jets lost their top two centers to injuries in the first half, his first exchange with third-stringer Xavier Newman led to a fumbled snap. In between those two Wilson fumbles, Breece Hall turned a check down into a 50-yard touchdown. The Jets started 0-for-12 on third down before Wilson finally converted a 3rd-and-11 with a 17-yard run just before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter, but things looked bleak after that possession ended on a fourth-down sack. Wilson came alive after the Jets got the ball back with 24 seconds left in regulation, completing back-to-back 29-yard passes to set up a game-tying field goal before helping draw a 30-yard pass interference penalty to set up the game-winning field goal in overtime. It hasn't been pretty, but Wilson and the Jets have won three straight to improve to 4-3 heading into a Week 9 MNF visit from the Chargers.

Sun 10/15/23 8:58 PM

Wilson completed 19 of 33 passes for 186 yards without a touchdown or turnover in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Eagles. He added four rushes for 15 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson came up short of 200 passing yards for the fifth time in six games, but he led New York to a second consecutive victory by avoiding costly turnovers while Jalen Hurts threw three interceptions. Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) was seen throwing a football and walking without crutches, but his return likely remains months away, and Wilson is locked in as the Jets' starter in Rodgers' absence. Wilson will try for a third consecutive win in Week 8 against the Giants after a Week 7 bye.

Sun 10/8/23 11:21 PM

Wilson completed 19 of 26 pass attempts for 199 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while rushing three times for 26 yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson was not involved in either of the Jets' trips to the end zone Sunday, as the team scored via Breece Hall's rushing touchdown and cornerback Bryce Hall's defensive touchdown. The quarterback's lone turnover came on a forced throw to tight end C.J. Uzomah near the end of the first half. He also fumbled twice but did not lose possession on either gaffe. Fortunately for Wilson, the Broncos offense continues to be inept, and the ill-timed pick did not cost his team its second win. The 24-year-old won't be afforded as many mulligans next Sunday against an Eagles defense that ranks near the top of the league through five weeks.

Mon 10/2/23 12:37 AM

Wilson completed 28 of his 39 pass attempts for 245 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while gaining 14 yards on two carries in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson struggled to complete half of his passing attempts through three appearances this season (52 percent entering Sunday), so expectations against the reigning Super Bowl champions were understandably low. The 2021 second overall pick responded with one of the cleaner passing performances we've seen him deliver to date. It would take more than one solid outing from the BYU product to undo the past two seasons of mediocrity, but it was an encouraging effort on the national stage against a legitimate contender. If Wilson can string together a couple more positive games, then we could start seeing him discussed as a potential option in fantasy circles. His next opportunity to do so comes against Denver next Sunday.

Sun 9/24/23 7:19 PM

Wilson completed 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards while rushing once for one yard in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson threw for only 29 yards in the first half as the Jets took a 10-3 deficit into the locker room. He came alive with 79 passing yards on a fourth-quarter touchdown drive capped by a one-yard Nick Bawden touchdown run, but Wilson failed to produce a first down on New York's next two possessions. He got one last chance as the Jets got the ball with 16 seconds left, and Wilson almost pulled off the miracle comeback, as his Hail Mary on the final play bounced off Randall Cobb's hand after a 29-yard pass to Garrett Wilson and spike. Wilson showed some flashes of potential with the Jets in desperation mode in the fourth quarter, but he was putrid before then. Despite Wilson's struggles, coach Robert Saleh said after the game that the 2021 second overall draft pick will remain the starting quarterback in Week 4 against the Chiefs, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Wilson completed 12 of 27 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown with three interceptions in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys. He added 36 rushing yards on five carries.
EDGE Analysis
The third-year QB actually led the Jets in rushing, as the Dallas defense put together another dominant performance. Wilson's numbers in the first half were fairly solid, highlighted by a 68-yard TD pass to Garrett Wilson (undisclosed) in the second quarter, but all three of his INTs came on New York's final three drives as he tried to make something happen to bring his team back from a 17-point deficit. Wilson faces another potentially tough matchup in Week 3 against the Patriots.

Coach Robert Saleh reiterated Tuesday that Wilson is the Jets' starting quarterback moving forward after the team confirmed Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles during Monday's overtime win versus the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After taking over for Rodgers on New York's fifth offensive snap of the game, Wilson played the final 50 en route to 140 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception. Wilson also had four carries for six yards and was sacked twice for minus-13 yards. For the foreseeable future, he'll get to work with RBs Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook and WRs Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard, but Saleh noted Tuesday that the Jets will add another quarterback at some point to room that currently includes only a healthy practice-squad member in Tim Boyle behind Zach Wilson.
