Head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Wilson hasn't cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and won't play in Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Wilson unavailable for Week 18, Trevor Siemian will make a third straight start under center. Meanwhile, Saleh was non-committal Wednesday regarding Wilson's future with the franchise, noting that he believed that the signal-caller has a long career ahead of him, but whether that will be with the Jets or elsewhere remains to be seen. In any case, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft finishes up his 2023 campaign with 2,271 passing yards and 211 rushing yards to go along with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 12 games.

Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that it's too early to tell whether Wilson (concussion) will be available for next Sunday's season finale against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson has missed the last two games while in concussion protocol, and Trevor Siemian has put up underwhelming numbers while filling in under center. While Wilson has more than a full week to recover before the Jets travel to New England in Week 18, the 6-10 Jets will have nothing to play for, so they have little reason to rush Wilson's return. His participation level in practice next week will likely be indicative of Wilson's chances of suiting up against the Patriots.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Wilson hasn't cleared concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson doesn't seem to have made much tangible progress through the five-step protocol since suffering the concussion in a Dec. 17 loss to Miami, as he remained listed as a non-participant Monday on the Jets' initial Week 17 practice report. The Jets have determined that Wilson won't pass all five phases of the protocol before Thursday, so he'll miss a second game in a row while Trevor Siemian gets another turn as the team's starting quarterback. Wilson could still be in the mix for the start in the season finale versus the Patriots in Week 18, provided he can clear the protocol.

Wilson (concussion) remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol Tuesday and his status for Thursday's game against the Browns is up-in-the-air, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report due to a concussion sustained just before halftime of the Jets' Week 15 divisional loss to the Dolphins. Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Wilson is "progressing," but unless he's able to get back on the practice field in at least a limited capacity Tuesday, it will be difficult for the quarterback to gain clearance in time for Thursday Night Football. Trevor Siemian will get a second straight start if Wilson is unable to play.

Wilson (concussion) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson sustained a concussion just before halftime of the Jets' Week 15 loss in Miami and hasn't practiced in the meantime, missing one game in the process. Considering the lack of activity and the fact New York is facing a quick turnaround for Thursday's game at Cleveland, he appears to be in danger of sitting out multiple weeks. Wilson's replacement, Trevor Siemian, has fared modestly over roughly six quarters so far, completing 41 of 75 passes for 327 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions, taking four carries for 18 yards and losing both of his fumbles. Wilson will have two more chances this week to put himself in a position to return to action Thursday.

Wilson (concussion), who has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, is unlikely to be available for the Jets' Thursday night game against the Browns in Week 17, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. "It does make it a challenge that it's a Thursday game," head coach Robert Saleh said Friday, regarding Wilson's potential Week 17 availability. "He's got to clear some hurdles over the weekend. It's going to be one of those where we'll see."
EDGE Analysis
Due to the short turnaround for Week 17, Wilson will have just four additional days to clear the five-step concussion protocol after Sunday's game. Trevor Siemian will make his first start of the season Sunday against the Commanders. Siemian may be likely to start again next Thursday regardless of how he fares against Washington, though Brett Rypien could also be an option after signing with the Jets earlier in December.

Wilson (concussion) didn't participate in Thursday's walkthrough, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson, who remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, also was listed as a non-participant Wednesday and now has one more chance to get some work in before Sunday's game against the Commanders. Per Cimini, at this stage all signs point to Trevor Siemian getting the Jets' starting QB nod Week 16.

Wilson (concussion) won't practice Wednesday and remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that the Jets are "not closing the door yet" on Wilson being available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Wilson would start against Washington if he's able to clear concussion protocol. Should Wilson sit, Trevor Siemian -- who replaced Wilson in the first half of the 30-0 Week 15 loss to Miami -- would make his first start of 2023.

Coach Robert Saleh indicated Monday that if Wilson is able to clear the NFL's concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, he'll remain the Jets' starting QB, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The report adds that if Wilson is unable to fully advance through the protocol, Trevor Siemian would be in line to start in his place. Meanwhile, per Eric Allen of the Jets' official site, the team has until Wednesday to decide whether to activate Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) from IR. It remains to be seen how the Jets -- who have been eliminated from playoff contention -- will approach the veteran QB's situation, but at this stage Cimini suggests that it seems unlikely Rodgers will see action over New York's final three games.
